Support Canada's 2006 George Orwell Free Speech Award Recipient:  Marc Lemire

In November, 2006, Marc Lemire received the 21st Annual George Orwell 
Free Speech award in Victoria, British Columbia for his valiant 
defence of freedom for all Canadians.

The George Orwell Free Speech award is given to people who have 
demonstrated a sincere love for freedom and heritage as well as open 
debate and the pursuit of truth.

In the twenty-first year of this award it is the Honour of the 
Canadian Free Speech League to recognize the courage of Marc Lemire 
in defence of Freedom and our heritage of open debate in pursuit of 
truth.

Past winners have included such well-known freedom fighters as: Doug 
Collins, Barbara Kulaszka, Ernst Zundel and Paul Fromm.

I have known Marc for more than twelve years.  Few activists in our 
ranks have been as dedicated and steadfast as he.  Marc, like many 
before him, is presently before yet another detested Canadian Human 
Rights Tribunal,  an arm of the Canadian Human Rights Commission, a 
political, utterly shameless body of system apparatchiks who feed at 
the taxpayers' trough.

Marc is the father of two young children and holds down a full time 
job.  He can only do so much raising money for the legal struggle 
that is ever more fiercely raging in Canada, eroding further what 
little freedom there is.

Every single document that is on Marc's website, www.freedomsite.org 
, is held to be "hateful" by the Commission. That includes official 
documents, even the Canadian Human Rights Commission's own!   Every 
single title is said to be "offensive" by hurting someone's feelings!

Marc is a fearless activist.  He has won some substantial victories 
already that many people predicted could not be won.  For instance, 
for the first time in Canadian history, he won  a motion to have a 
complaint laid under Section 13, the thoroughly odious "Hate Law" 
paragraph, against the Freedomsite dismissed! 

That victory means nothing to the purely politically and 
ideologically motivated Canadian Human Rights Commission.  They 
trample all over the  laws of the country under which they operate. 
The battle for freedom of speech still continues, as the case against 
Marc Lemire is still proceeding to the "Human Rights" Tribunal, a 
quasi-judicial body where anything goes - and by "anything" we mean, 
anything against freedom-loving Canadians!

The Tribunal is a blight on the Canadian legal system, as previous 
rulings have shown -- where truth is no defence,  intent is no 
defence, hearsay evidence can be accepted!  And the fine, if Marc 
should lose, can be as high as $50,000!

As you can see, it takes stamina to fight these sharks in pin-striped 
suits, and Marc Lemire is willing to take enormous risks to gain back 
the freedom the censorship sharks are trying to destroy.
