"Unacceptable in Canada"

How ironic that in Canada, after sacrificing many thousands of Christian lives on behalf of European Jewry, we must apologize to Jews for our Christian antecedents and accept gracefully tactless demands to exclude references to Christian principles at political meetings.

To restore his perspective, your correspondent Tony Hall (Letters, Nov. 8) should inquire how a Christian likely would be received at an Israeli political meeting were he to insist that Judaic symbols or precepts be outlawed.

He would soon find out how much the self-righteous Jewish critics really value "cultural pluralism as a rich source of national vitality" when they are in charge! November 9, 1989.
