Having just finished the December Power letter to be shipped from the Zundel-Haus, I thought I would give myself a coffee break and let you see some highlights:
* From the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal Hearings:
The next witness (following Bernard Klatt and Mark Weber) was supposed to be either Dr. Robert Faurisson from France or the Black history professor, Dr. Tony Martin, from Wellesley College near Boston, who has written a book about the treatment he received at the hands of the Jewish Lobby and Israeli Firsters, called appropriately enough "The Jewish Onslaught."
Professor Martin got their dander up because he taught classes about slavery and the role Jewish slave merchants and Jewish slave ship captains played in the slave trade, which led to the deaths of apparently millions of slaves over the centuries.
Now Dr. Martin has to attend a trial of his own in Boston. His book has already been banned in Canada and was seized by Canada Customs as "hate literature" and burned. The Jewish lawyers for the Human Rights Commission and the intervenors have promised another stiff fight to prevent Dr. Martin from testifying as an expert. Because of the Martin legal troubles, Dr. Faurisson will be next to testify. This will begin on Tuesday, December 15, 1998.
Once again there will be undoubtedly very nasty and fierce opposition from the Jewish intervenors and Commission lawyers. Apart from being the world's leading Revisionist scholar, Dr. Faurisson is by profession an expert on ancient documents and texts, whom even Jewish professors and commentators (before he turned Revisionist) referred to as "tres brilliante" - very brilliant. The sparks will be flying in Toronto Christmas week!
* On the CSIS front
The new judge for the Security Intelligence Review Committee, James Grant, ruled against us in some important areas - and thus, after further written submissions by the Intelligence Service and the Justice Department lawyers, there will, the way it looks now, be a resumption of the hearings against me in Ottawa! I have no dates at this time, but the end of January or February sounds like a safe bet.
* The Mother of all Lawsuits continues!
The civil suit against the Canadian Political elite I took out six weeks ago is on track and is causing a stir. Here, too, we are steering a steady course of not allowing the powerful and well-connected to intimidate us. I have given instructions to my attorneys to be firm but flexible and within my heart know that regardless of what the judges in some courts may decide down the road in this case, this issue of banning me from a room in the parliamentary Press Gallery, accessible for over a hundred years to any other Canadian resident who had something to say about a matter of national interest, is so disgusting and unprecedented and clearly based on bigotry and prejudice that I simply had to fight back. The cross-examination of their witnesses, from the Prime Minister and the leader of every Canadian political party on down, will begin in a few more weeks, the latest a month! I will keep you informed! They have lots of shenanigans to hide!
* Is victory possible?
The court case in Germany against the "indexing" of 7 Zundelsite documents on the website, some written by Mark Weber and Dr. Faurisson, looks promising, according to my German attorney, Jürgen Rieger, who attended court in Köln, Germany, on December 4, 1998. The decision will be rendered by January 12, 1999. There, too, I shall keep you posted.
* Canada will get tougher "Hate Laws" in the New Year
Elsewhere in this newsletter I am publishing a one-page Christmas message, which will explain what consequences for my work can be expected from the proposed changes in the Hate Laws, which some have already dubbed another "Lex Zundel".
The law will specifically enshrine that, in Holocaust matters, there is not going to be room for doubt! Truth as a defense will be removed, as it has been in Germany and most continental European states which have adopted various versions, slightly changed for local tradition and consumption, but still similar to Israelis and Germany's anti-intellectual, anti-revisionist "Auschwitz is true" laws!
To say, write or even think otherwise - regardless of how carefully phrased or worded your findings, or how mild your criticism might be - is a crime in Europe already, punishable by up to five years in prison in Germany! I predict that Canada will adopt a similar law.
Maybe the free speech forces can change the wording a bit or cut down the penalties foreseen or wanted by the Holocaust Enforcers, but make no mistake about it - the present members of Parliament, none known for their defence of civil rights or constitutional guarantees, will pass this repressive law! Freedom of Speech in Canada is now just about a relic of its colonial past!
* Sensational News from Germany!
Finally the Germans seem to have had enough! In a campaign which has lasted for almost 6 weeks already, the highly acclaimed German novelist, Martin Walser, seems to have unleashed a firestorm of controversy by, in effect, pitting his German "Genug ist genug!" (Enough is enough!) against the Jewish "Never forgive! Never forget!"
The president of Germany's Jews, Ignatz Bubis, lashed out at Walser, apparently calling him an intellectual or spiritual arsonist for saying that the Germans are tired of being constantly shamed with endless stories of guilt about Auschwitz. The controversy has reached such a pitch that Germany's most popular and widely viewed TV channel, ARD No.1 had a special program devoted to the controversy on December 13, 1998, at 11 p.m., announcing that Germany's most prestigious daily newspaper, Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, would devote a large part of its December 14, '98 issue to defuse this potentially explosive topic, obviously by channeling their anger into safe areas and thus preventing a real debate by airing it publicly.
For the first time in living memory, Bubis is backpedaling and has retracted the statement that Walser was "ein geistiger Brandstifter" - an intellectual arsonist. He said lamely that he could no longer uphold or maintain that phrase.
Charges of the German elite having been "infected with right wing thinking" and using slogans like "Die Auschwitz-Keule" - the Auschwitz Club, as in baseball bat - are now echoing through the German media. The Jewish leadership seems to have been completely taken by surprise by the ferocious German public's reaction to the constant badgering.
* German Chancellor Schröder shocks European politicos!
There was another shock wave which rocked Europe's complacency when the new Socialist chancellor of Germany first told the French and British he would not attend a ceremony commemorating Germany's defeat in World War I, and then a few weeks later told the Super-Bureaucrats in Brussels that the Germans were not going to give more money to Brussels.
He said: "The time is past when Europe solved its political problems by getting the Germans to pay for the solutions!" A few days later, Germany's new "Green" foreign minister, Yoschka Fischer, a lifelong leftist, told NATO that the Germans were not in favor of supporting NATOs current automatic first-strike nuclear response option!
So even there, in defence matters, the German vassals are finally acting up!
Dr. Faurisson, who has flown in from France to help us out with his scholarship and whose judgment I have come to respect, answered simply when I told him of these promising developments: "I wonder how long it will be before the Germans drop their pants" - meaning, of course, before the intimidated new crop of German cowards will once again give in to pressure and media agitation! Well, we shall see!
* Finally a few more words about our work!
In spite of the tremendously time- and energy consuming legal struggles, and the drain they represent on our finances, you will have to admit that we keep at our enemies' heels! We try to exploit every opportunity, every court case, even every adversity which comes our way, into something positive for our cause. We have so far turned every stumbling block into a stepping stone! Millions know of our work!
Many a times our enemies must have believed they had us cornered, encircled, defeated, when we broke out and sallied forth from the encirclement on new offensives - with your help, your love, your sacrifices and your devotion! Especially your material sacrifices have made all the difference and have made all these struggles possible. Alone I would have been finished long ago, silenced and defeated! I would have had to give up!
With your dedicated help I have been able to fight and fight and win - when faint hearts had already predicted defeat and surrender!
On this day, in this Holy Season, in this far-from-home place for me, let the enemies of freedom know that the Zundel-Team still stands and still fights the good fight! Let history record that we were not lesser men nor lesser women than our fathers and mothers! That we gave what we had to give - our energies, our talents, our treasures, our properties and in many cases our reputations and even lives.
