Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

Here is a brief summary from a week's worth of Toronto CHRT hearings and assorted additional developments around the Zundelsite:

o Bernard Klatt's cross-examination regarding the prosecution's asinine premise that ". . . the Internet is like a telephone" has been concluded. Klatt's testimony was sterling throughout. It gives me great pleasure to report that he was calm, collected, exceedingly knowledgeable and an old-fashioned Germanic gentleman - a welcome contrast to the Talmudic twists, turns and antics of the opposition.

Much ado was made of the fact that the censorship crowd, Sol Litman of the Canadian arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre playing the Leading Man, had managed to shut Klatt down as an Internet Service Provider about a year ago because Klatt hosted websites on his server deemed offensive to the Politically Correct.

Klatt's answer was, throughout, that he was not a censor, unlike some censor-happy folks he knew. He stated calmly but firmly that he had, to his knowledge, not done anything against the law by hosting these websites - and had, in fact, specifically requested that the Attorney General of British Columbia inform him which of the sites, or what of their contents, was against the law.

Since no such information or criminal charges under the draconian "Hate Laws" had been forthcoming from the British Columbia District Attorney, Klatt concluded that he had not done anything against the law, in spite of the media hysteria and Sol Litman's irresponsible and inflammatory charge that Oliver, the town where Klatt lives, had become the "Hate Capital of Canada".

Klatt's testimony was concluded late afternoon on Monday, December 7, and Mark Weber, Director of the southern California-based Revisionist Institute for Historical Review and Editor of the Journal of Historical Review, was called on the stand for the purpose of qualifying him as an Expert Witness for the defense in matters relating to the Holocaust and Revisionism.

o Anybody versed in the discipline called Revisionism is familiar with the name Mark Weber. His scholarship is impeccable, and his knowledge of Revisionist topics is vast, in spite of the vicious attacks against him by the Jewish lawyers of the Commission and the intervenors.

From Monday afternoon to the end of Thursday the struggle escalated and intensified around the issue of Weber's qualifications. As might have been expected, the opposition strategy was the shopworn one: To holler "Racist" as loudly as they could for an article Mark had penned in 1978 as a young man about his political awakening, and hope that the smear would stick and spook the three-minus-one Tribunal members enough to disqualify him as someone less-than-human and not sensitive enough to the interests of the shrill minority.

Weber refused to be brow-beaten. He stood his man. He would not genuflect! He walked out of the Inquisition Hearings, head held high, especially on his last day, December 10. By the end of that date, a decision had not yet been reached on Mark being allowed as an expert witness, and he had to fly back to Los Angeles. Someone was overheard saying that his departure might influence the Tribunal's decision to qualify him or not. Go figure ***that*** kind of logic! It's like saying a surgeon is no longer a surgeon because he is taking a plane!

o One specific tactic by the opposition to discredit Mark Weber was the charge that, in citing his references, he had ". . . quoted out of context." Naturally, "context" was never defined.

Here are the facts:

1.) Mark Weber has been previously certified as an expert witness by the Toronto District Court in 1988 by Judge Thomas in Ernst Zundel's celebrated and groundbreaking Great Holocaust Trial II. If he ends up not being qualified in a Human Rights Tribunal hearing dealing with the ***same*** pamphlet, "Did Six Million Really Die?" what does that say once more about a legitimate apprehension that the Tribunal is biased?

2. Even if Mark is disqualified as an expert witness, he should ***still*** be qualified to testify as a factual witness, since several of his articles parked on the Zundelsite are being challenged as having hurt some people's feelings. So Mark by rights should be back one way or the other next spring. By not qualifying him, the Tribunal would deny Ernst Zundel the ***third*** substantial witness or expert for his defense!

o This coming week, two additional extremely interesting witnesses are scheduled to be qualified as expert witnesses. Expect some additional wailing and gnashing of teeth by the opposition - and interesting developments around these two distinguished scholars!

:)

o Meanwhile, in Germany things are stirring tellingly in the intellectual community as well. The popular German novelist, Martin Walser, recently finally had reached his level of tolerance regarding Germany's guilt-dispensing Holocaust Lobby and is now speaking out on the extortionist orgy at the expense of German industry and German people. Preliminary word has come via fax that a number of other intellectuals and noted German leaders have joined Walser in demanding an end to the intimidation of Germans with what is known as the "Auschwitz Keule" (colloquial translation would be "Auschwitz baseball bat")

The message is clearly: Enough is Enough!

Is this the straw that will break the camel's back? Is this the crack in the dam that will unleash the flood? Let's keep our fingers crossed. The man has visibility - and credibility.

Once again I am reporting that the global information war is flaring big-time in Toronto around the Zundelsite! What times we live in! The Freedom of the Internet is being defended here in Toronto by a handful of valiant few who have been vilified as "Nazis", "Racists" "White Supremacists" - ad nauseam. And where, pray, are the Cyber Braves of early 1996? Who ought to at least be reporting?

You heard the story of the mountain convulsing and bringing forth a mouse.

Try searching their websites for "Zundel"! I often wonder how these people feel when facing themselves in the mirror.

Thought for the Day, uttered as recently as January 1994:

"The Holocaust is something different. It is a singular event. It is not simply one example of genocide but a near successful attempt on the life of God's chosen children and, thus, on God himself. It is an event that is the antithesis of Creation as recorded in the Bible, and like its direct opposite, which is relived weekly with the Sabbath and yearly with the Torah, it must be remembered from generation to generation."
