Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

This is a ZGram I wanted to write for some time - describing the plight of a charismatic German leader of the Right, Gunther Deckert, conveniently imprisoned. I take most of the content from the Deckert Dispatch, PO Box 10111, D-69451 Weinheim, Germany - a newsletter trying to rally support:

"Germany is a nation in which any criticism of the Jews is a crime. In fact, to say publicly that the story of the Holocaust might be a hoax can land one in prison fast. Truth is no defense to such a charge.

Gunter Deckert, 58, is married with one daughter and two grandchildren. He taught English and French in a school in Heidelberg. He has been in prison since November 8, 1995 for the following "crime":

1.) Deckert translated the "Leuchter Report" into German, which proved positively that no gas chambers ever existed in Germany for the purpose of exterminating human beings. (Note: This report is available from through my office. $12.00, postage included. Send snail mail address for order blank.) -

2.) Deckert committed the "horrible crime" of introducing mainstream Revisionist historian David Irving at a meeting -

Believe it or not, the German Agency established to prosecute anyone who does not believe in the Holocaust is called "The Office for the Protection of the Constitution"! Stalin would have loved to have originated such a diabolical name for one of his secret police agencies. Germany really has no constitution. The people there live under the "Basic Law" as imposed upon them by the occupation forces after World War II. (Israel is the only other "modern" country that operates under a "Basic Law" and not a constitution!)

Deckert was charged with two serious crimes: "Inciting racial hatred" and "defaming the dead."

His "trial" was held in Mannheim. He was found guilty, given one year probation, and fined 10,000 marks.

Deckert appealed, and the Federal High Court in Karlsruhe overturned the verdict.

This ruling received much publicity and brought howls of protest from Jews denouncing Germany for allowing such an "anti-Semite" to win his case.

At the new trial, the "Office for the Protection of the Constitution" brought the case before three women judges in Karlsruhe, thus bypassing the court in Mannheim for being too "pro-Deckert". One woman was a known Marxist.

In Germany, the state can try you over and over until they win a conviction. If they feel the sentence is not severe enough, the state can appeal to give a defendant ***additional time*** in prison. There are no jury trials as in the U.S. A single judge or a three-judge panel hears the case.

This time, the three women panel sentenced Deckert to two years in prison. Once in prison, your sentence can be extended so that you never know when you will be released.

From prison, Deckert wrote a letter to Michel Friedman, vice-president of organized Jewry in Germany. In this letter, Deckert objected to Friedman's hateful articles against Germany.

Thus, seven months were added to his sentence.

The outspoken Deckert wrote another letter, comparing the "Office for the Protection of the Constitution" to the Communist Secret Police.

The court added one month to his sentence for using "insulting words."

Deckert was punished again for writing an article about the outrageous persecution he had suffered. To defend yourself is considered a serious "crime" in postwar "democratic" Germany.

Another 20 months were added to his sentence.

Now Deckert is again to be convicted. This time he asked a former Dachau concentration camp inmate about his experiences there.

Allegedly, the questions he asked were "pretentious" and "insulting". In an article in the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung of April 8, 1998, Deckert is described as alleged to have ". . . feigned interest in the fate of the man and asked him insulting and contemptible questions, according to the prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe."

Incidentally, there is (as yet) no law in Germany against asking someone "pretentiously" about any concentration camp experience!

The judges who convicted Deckert so far were persistently silent on that critical and mysteriously obscure subject - just how many people died - and if so, how - at Auschwitz. They never made a statement or issued a clarification about the technical and historical details in connection with concentration camps. They always found Deckert guilty, saying ". . . everyone, including Deckert, knows about the Holocaust! Anyone who says otherwise is guilty of a 'hate crime!'"

How is Deckert being treated? Here he tells you in his own words:

"The chicanery and the attempts to morally and spiritually isolate and 're-educate' me know no boundaries or limits. Almost daily something 'new' is invented to further restrict me in my privileges - whatever few were left.

"With an ingenious, witty, clever and gifted reasoning I was notified that only in 'extremely important cases' would any letters in a foreign language be forwarded and handed out to me.

"Not only do they withhold now from me the various newspaper clippings or other printed matter, they no longer hand me the personal letters or attached checks from foreign banks.

"I have not received any mail from abroad not written in German for several weeks now. I still owe several friends abroad an answer to their letters, but the Prison Authority - the censors - do not accept my letters written in a foreign language.

Please be so kind and notify my friends and supporters about this situation immediately!"

Deckert's case has already been rejected by Amnesty International.

"One thing I've noticed about the yahudi - they never change their tactics. If you want to know what they're going to do next, read history."
