Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

This one is simply precious - you are in for a genuine treat, again courtesy of the Hoffman Wire (May 22, 1998) the intellectual property of Michael A. Hoffman II, Editor, who took to the streets, flyers in fist, to confront the Mighty Wiesenthalers:

Hoffman Successfully Confronts Wiesenthal's National Hate Symposium

On May 21 I arrived on the campus of the Jesuit Gonzaga University one hour prior to my 8:45 scheduled protest at the site of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's National Hate Symposium in Spokane, Washington.

At 8:45 a.m. I unfurled my placard, with the words, "Wiesenthal Hates the First Amendment" emblazoned on it and took out the leaflets I had composed and printed the night before. The leaflets were not intended as an attention-getter. My placard would fulfill that.

Rather, the leaflet was intended as a substantial research document, a densely written compendium of much of the poison the Wiesenthal Center and its eponymous patron saint have retailed over the years; packed with documentation and notes and something not easily dismissed or explained away by the Symposium's organizers.

It was titled, "The Simon Wiesenthal Center Seeks Censorship and Jailing of all Dissenters from Zionist Dogma,"and it was bylined with my name and a notation concerning my quondam employment with the Associated Press.

I quickly determined that the cavernous Martin Center was not to be site for the Symposium. It had been changed to the smaller Jepson Center about a mile away, on the claim that a smaller crowd than had been first anticipated, was now expected.

Since admission to the Conference was $80, I rather doubt that the Wiesenthal Center had been anticipating a vast crowd. This was an elite gathering, not a populist exercise.

I estimate about 150 were in attendance, including police detectives, prosecutors, district attorneys and an Attorney General from the Justice Department (Thomas Perez, substituting for Bill Lann Lee, after the latter's last-minute cancellation).

I wonder if the site was actually changed due to concerns about my protest? I had e-mailed copies of the press release about my protest to government and media outlets across Washington and Idaho and, via the Usenet news groups, throughout the U.S.

Once I learned the location of the new venue I was able to reach it by 8:55 a.m. (Traditional Catholics take note: the Jepson Center is adjacent to the "Cardinal Bea House"!).

About a dozen security guards were huddled in front of the Jepson Center when I arrived with my placard and leaflets. They froze momentarily when they spotted me. They seemed to be searching for the legions of my supporters who were following in my wake. In fact, I was alone.

I shouted a sunny "hello"at the guards and waved to them. Spokane being the still mostly Nordic cow town that it is -- not yet devolved into Big City toxicity and ennui -- they responded with some hellos of their own.

I immediately began to distribute my literature to the arriving attendees. I would estimate that about 90% of them accepted my leaflet and did so with courtesy; with many showing curiosity and wanting to engage in dialogue.

A few moments later, a supporter from north Idaho who had heard of my protest through an intermediary and not by means of the Internet, arrived, having taken off time from his work to assist me (this individual is very dedicated; I'll call him K).

Between us, we distributed hundreds of leaflets.

I was interviewed briefly by Virginia de Leon of Spokane's dominant metropolitan newspaper, "The Spokesman-Review" (even as Spokesman-Review reporter Bill Morlin was inside the Jepson Center preparing to speak under Wiesenthal auspices). Her photographer took several photos of this writer and my placard.

The two local television stations present, KHQ and KXLY, ignored me completely. I challenged them on their bias and they played deaf and dumb. In fact they were so biased they even ignored their own journalistic instincts (assuming they have any).

Shortly after the television crews arrived, around mid-morning, a group consisting of about 50 high school students was touring the Gonzaga campus and passed by the Jepson Center.

Seizing the opportunity, I jumped atop a nearby bench and addressed them, shouting, "Do you know that Gonzaga University is hosting a group that wants to ban Internet sites?"

The words "Internet"and "ban"immediately resonated with the students. I then proceeded to point out the frightening implications for young, inquiring minds of having a rabbinical group decide what they can or cannot view on the web.

I then offered them my leaflet. They gathered around me and K and I distributed another forty or so leaflets. The entire spectacle happened in full view of the dull ideologues from the TV station. Like sophomoric boy scouts, they took a "see-no-evil"approach and marched robotically into the Jepson Center and their appointments with the commissars of censorship.

But that was okay, because I am a street orator to the core. I was lately edified by the excellent new film version of Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables"(starring Liam Neeson) and especially by the scenes of the spellbinding street orator who enraptures the Paris crowd. Such skills are incumbent and I enjoyed honing them at Gonzaga, with or without a TV audience.

Next, a Gonzaga university official came out to greet us. He was friendly and we got to chatting and soon laughing. As he headed back inside the building, we overheard a melodramatic female security guard ask him, "Are you alright?"

As if he had been about to be taken hostage!

But such Hollywood-stoked hysteria was rare. In general even the Jewish-Zionist individuals in attendance managed to contain their anger and maintain a modicum of civility. But then, what else could they do?

We were obviously a couple of decent-enough guys and the whole thrust of my sign and literature was one of rights for the dissident and the marginalized.

Had this been New York or Los Angeles we might have been pushed, shoved, spat upon or exiled to a public area far distant from the campus conference site. Instead, we were allowed to stand on campus property and protest and educate.

Our literature was distributed not only to symposium participants, but to university students taking summer school classes as well as interested passersby.

We definitely upset the neat, heremetically-sealed agenda of the Wiesenthal Center which intended to defame us in peace and luxury; demonizing revisionists to the usual cosmic proportions.

Instead, the audience got to see for themselves two quite human individuals in front of their building, arguing for civil liberty for writers, raising the cases of Walendy, Deckert, Zündel and Germar Rudolf with the naive participants and furnishing them with an exhaustively documented, mini casebook of highly embarrassing facts about the skeletons in Simon Wiesenthal's own closet.

By lunch time a couple of the Jewish participants began to lose their cool--one tore the leaflet up in front of a crowd of somewhat mortified local folks and another -- a tall lady I took for a representative of the Center itself -- began to quiz me on what my "true"knowledge of the Wiesenthal Center was -- had I actually been there, toured the museum etc?

(Here I think she had gotten her schtick mixed up; this "have you personally been there" routine is usually the approach they use on those who are skeptical concerning homicidal gas chambers, not Jewish institutes; it was as if she had thought I was saying that the Wiesenthal Center didn't happen).

Well as luck would have it, as a former resident of the greater Los Angeles area, I had been to the Wiesenthal Center and had been alternately amused and bored by it and I told her so. With that retort the lady was speechless and made a quick exit.

My one regret was that K had been unable to attend the Symposium itself, because we were short the $80 entrance fee. I had funds to pay for printing the leaflets and the cost for my car's gasoline to and from Spokane, but no extra contingency money.

REVISIONIST HISTORY #6 arrived from the printer on the same day and we have an obligation to subscribers to marshal our funds in order to pay for the postage to mail it. We must budget everything. This is not always the case, but it was yesterday.

Interestingly, after I returned from Spokane, I found a check for $70 in our post office box from H.N. of Ohio (thanks HN!). Had I known it was there, K might have been able to chip in the additional $10 and we could have paid K's way into the National Hate Symposium. The mine of information and documents K would have retrieved would have been very valuable indeed.

Such are the vagaries of battle. The "target"is at hand but the "ammunition"runs low.

But I am a happy warrior. Like Ernst Zündel and David Irving, I have never bought into the "All is lost," it's "too late" defeatism of the enemy agents and their hypnotic subjects in our midst.

For years they've excused themselves from the battle while they've waited for their sole means of deliverance--their expectation that "The System's gonna fall!"

This "survival" mode has been disastrous in its neutralization--particularly here in America--of many thousands of activists who enjoy freedoms which European, Canadian and Australian colleagues can only dream of.

Yet, since they believe it's "too late," they sit out the protests, the pickets and the leaflet distributions.

Then they wonder why things aren't getting better.

Ah, but au contraire!

Things are getting better.

At this "late date" K and I should not have been allowed to educate the hundreds of people we did yesterday and expose and embarrass the Wiesenthal Center.

Until yesterday, the Wiesenthalers were banking on our absence, confident they could jail revisionists in Europe and pose as human rights activists at symposia in America and get away with it.

Well, we yanked the rags off that dummy.

Critics will respond, "Two protesters? C'mon, Hoffman. This was a small affair."

Yes, in the eyes of small people.

But I make my own history. I do not buy into the scenarios and projections of others.

I project my own movie upon the stage of history and insist that I am the one who will make the world turn our way.

And that dear friends, benefactors and critics, is the only definition of a leader.

The trouble is, an awful lot of you have been following a host of Cassandras, weaklings and doom-sayers without an ounce of vision or will-power and mistaking them for leaders.

If you don't want me for a leader, fine. Be your own hero. In any given month there is something to protest in a large city near you. Make a placard, compose the leaflets and stand as a sole sentinel, if necessary, over the tattered banner that is Truth, as I did.

I won't be jealous, I'll be elated. I don't necessarily need to be top banana; only to set an example, to light a candle, to awaken you from your long, sad, sleepy-headed dream of impotence and gloom.

How wonderful to be ahead of the pack, to spot a trend, to be on the inside of a movement going straight to the top. Not everyone has such an opportunity.

Most hop on when the bandwagon is already full. How terrific to be alive now and to pioneer the path of glory by the light of a single lamp -- a path which others by the millions will one day tread.

I have a secret for you (actually, it's not so secret anymore, since I first announced it at Dave Barley's meeting in New Mexico last year and some of you have heard it of since then)--Jewish power is slipping.

Believe it.

Both in the Arab world and in the white separatist camp, I have been able to have some influence in explaining to certain factions the perverse lore of the Kabbalistic Purimspiel principle--i.e. that violent opposition to Jewish power only empowers it further.

Without violent opposition from the outside, the Zionists devour each other. Violent opposition unites them.

Who is Simon Wiesenthal's greatest enemy? I hope you don't think I quoted from gentile source in that regard, in the flyer I distributed at Gonzaga.

Wiesenthals's most relentless enemy was Isser Harel, former director of a little something known as the Mossad. Footnote #10 of my Gonzaga leaflet cites J. Goldberg's Nov. 12, 1993 article in the Jewish "Forward"newspaper entitled, "Top Spy Says Wiesenthal Lied About His Exploits."

Wiesenthal's next biggest enemy was the late Bruno Kreisky, former Socialist Chancellor of Austria and -- you guessed it -- himself of Jewish descent. And so it goes.

Tireless, competent, scholarly exposure of Jewish deceit and tyranny and then prosecution of Jewish (and all other) offenders under existing laws and courts of justice -- without recourse to terror or violence -- is a situation no Talmudic or Zionist strategist can long tolerate.

They themselves will, under such circumstances, fund, direct and instigate "neo-Nazi"or "Arab"terror against Jewish civilians, a fact not lost on certain 'Jews' such as Lenni Brenner, Norman Finkelstein and Israel Shahak, who, upon learning this sub-rosa truth, have become bitter and intractable opponents of the Zionist movement.

There is a path to victory, in our time. Hey -- it's no problem. Honest Injun.

There are fringe characters like yours truly whose thinking is so different and so contrary that you could call us (with apologies to Cactus Ed), "The Monkey Wrench Gang,"because that's what we throw into the Establishment's self-fulfilling prophecy.

In this movie we call life, it all boils down to whose script are you going to believe.

If you want to win, believe what I am saying to you, animate it, put it into motion. If on the other hand, you choose to believe the Jewish script, then just continue as you are.

Meanwhile, I had a ball at Gonzaga on May 21. I'm a journalist, a historian, a novelist and a film-maker, but there is no higher sobriquet in my lexicography than "activist."

To be an activist is to be in the street, on the barricades, man to man, face to face -- with no Hollywood jump cut editing, no falsifying intermediary -- and there to call our people to their destiny the way a songbird calls to the forest at dawn.

To have such a vocation is to be the luckiest and the happiest man alive.
