When I was first published in the late 1970s, I attended a couple of
ABA (American Booksellers Association) Conventions at which I learned how
"best sellers" are made.
There were several formulas - ". . . break any five of the Ten Commandments"
being one - but a more interesting one went thusly, as suggested by a "workshop
leader" who gathered an attentive crowd in a nearby restaurant:
"Ply your distribution crew with lots of coffee and doughnuts early
in the morning, send them out with tons of books to 'sampling stores', talk
the owner into putting them in key display locations, then round up your
relatives, and have them buy them back . . . "
Presto. By noon the word is out! The title is selling like hotcakes!
Maybe that's how the Daniel Goldhagen book became so famous in such a short,
short time - at least in Germany. Maybe. And maybe not.
I think the problem with what I call the "Goldhagen Spritz" is
deeper. It has to do with people's willingness to prostrate themselves before
their own tormenters - which, in turn, has everything to do with being utterly
oblivious ". . . to the chains that can fetter the mind," to borrow
one of the better-crafted phrases describing this phenomenon.
Somebody told me that in Germany it is considered a "criminal offense"
for which you can be arrested to say in a political setting: "Germany
for Germans!"
Ditto for the Swiss, as per an ANA report titled "Swiss Protest Anti-Semitism":
". . . Several thousand Swiss held a demonstration yesterday (2/8/97) against anti-Semitism and launched a church-organized fund-raising campaign for 'Holocaust victims.'
Pamphlets at the demonstration read 'We Christians . . . are stricken by the extent of Switzerland's share of responsibility for the wrong and suffering inflicted on the Jewish people at the time of the Second World War and since then.'"
One of the ZGram readers living in America has summarized this situation:
"The HOLOCAUST is, after all, the biggest golden goose the world has ever known and whole government are whipping themselves in supplication.
When I speak to intelligent people about the horrible fate the German nation had suffered through the two World Wars and mention the incredible suffering of millions of Germans in a REAL holocaust, the terror of the Russian obliteration and the REAL genocide of whole populations, I cannot detect any compassion from the brainwashed, and I turn away in sadness to have witnessed what over 50 years of relentless diabolical propaganda has done to demonize the brave nation who singularly stood up to the Red Antichrist.
The Germans living today in Germany do not dare to think or say other than what their masters have taught them. They call it 'Vergangenheitsbewaeltigung'. (Editorial translation: "Coming to terms with the past" or "Wrestling down the past.")
We would call it 'historical frontal lobotomy'.
Their fathers shed their blood in vain and gave their lives - only to be vilified by their own descendants. The irony, however, is that in the rest of the world (the German soldiers) are being recognized for their valiant fight to stem the Red Tide and save the Western Civilization.
Todays Germans are a gutless imitation nation not comparable with their great past. I have little hope for them. It will be a long and slow awakening to all these frogs who (are) sitting in the comfortable warm water of material decadence when they are beginning to realize that the water is getting hotter and the catastrophe is upon them and there is no time to escape.
Their Mercedesses are rosting. Their wealth is going. Their false pride in their material achievements is the Golden Calf they worshipped for over half a century, blindfolded by their masters, forever whipping themselves for the 'crimes' their nation was accused of having committed. . . "
Trust me - this is now coming to an end. Ernst made an interesting observation
in one of his recent Germania letters, saying that what we are witnessing
in Germany today is a "generation jump" in that the children and,
to some extent, the grandchildren of the men who shed their blood to stop
the Antichrist now genuflect before the Antichrist, BUT THAT THE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
ARE THE ONES WHO ARE "RE-BORN" WITH ARYAN EYES.
Here is a letter that came yesterday:
"I was just reading on the Thule-Netz about a fantastic demonstration planned for March 1st in Munich to protest the shameful 'Crimes of the Wehrmacht' exhibition.
This great German nationalist rally is only a couple weeks away and might have a chance to really have an impact in the media in Germany if enough people attend it.
The marchers are meeting at noon at the university. Maybe could you mention it in one of your ZGram's prior to March 1st? If there are many ZGram readers in Germany it might really help make people aware of the rally and boost turnout."
