January 26, 1997

Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

The news just keeps on rolling in - the good, the bad and the ugly! Let's start with "Nazi-Gold" which seems to be a story where the Holocaust Promotion Lobby has definitely bitten off far more than it can chew:

* Switzerland

In a remarkable recent summary article by reporter Alan Cowell of Bern, copyrighted by The New York Times Company and worth every comma in terms of additional insight, we read of a mysterious cable indicating that

". . . Jewish groups . . . were poised to organize a boycott of Swiss banks, set up picket lines outside Swiss institutions in the United States, arrange unflattering press coverage and file class action suits if Switzerland did not capitulate {to demands for a Holocaust fund} by February 1997. It said the Swiss could respond in two ways: be conciliatory or put up hard-nosed resistance."

This article tells of a luncheon preceding this demand for "Nazi gold", attended by Bronfman, president of the World Jewish Congress as well as of Seagram, Israel Singer, the organization's secretary-general, and Thomas Borer, Switzerland's point-man in the conflict with American Jews.

The main participants, according to this article, agreed to keep the details of their conversation secret. Borer then cabled a secret report to Bern after the luncheon. According to the Cowell article,

". . . the Swiss diplomat gave a clear impression that the luncheon had become an arena for threats from the World Jewish Congress. The report said that if Switzerland made a "declaration of intent" to create a fund, American Jewish groups would turn down the heat."

The article goes on to say that Switzerland, in response,

". . . has seen a surge of anti-Semitic sentiment in recent weeks that one Jewish leader characterized as an "avalanche."

All this, and more, we now find out, was the preamble for the outgoing Swiss President's (Delamuraz's) remarks about "extortion" and blackmail."

Delamuraz is, furthermore, reported to have said that

". . . sometimes, listening to some people, I wonder whether or not Auschwitz is in Switzerland."

Reaction by the Swiss to all of this is telling. Martin Rosenfeld, secretary general of the organization representing Switzerland's 18,000 Jews, has stated:

"We knew there was latent anti-Semitism in Switzerland, but in the last few years we felt accepted and understood as a minority. . . a new avalanche is falling on us."

There is ever so much more in that Cowell article you will have to hunt down by yourself! First France, then Switzerland . . . the Zundelsite predicts Australia will be next!

* Britain

According to the 20 January 1997 issue of the Advertiser, an Australian newspaper, David Irving, British historian banned from Australia for his Revisionist writings, is sueing the Prime Minister, Mr Howard, for defamation. That's right! Irving has instructed his Australian solicitors to lodge a writ and statement of claims against Mr Howard in Melbourne's Supreme Court.

Mr Irving, who has repeatedly stated to many people's joy that the Jewish Holocaust is grossly exaggerated, has been trying to visit Australia for four years and received his last rejection in November. As many will remember, the best-selling author was refused a visa on the grounds that he failed to meet the "good character" requirements of Australia's Migration Act because of previous convictions.

Mr Irving, for his part, has stated that he had no convictions in Canada. In Britain, he was found in contempt of court in civil proceedings, but this was not a conviction for a criminal offence. His only conviction in Germany was for "defaming the memory of the dead", an offence unique to German law.

This conviction resulted from his saying the gas chamber shown to tourists at Auschwitz was a dummy - reconstructed after the war! - a view he said had since been verified.

Irving's next book, just about ready to roll of the presses, will be on the Nuremberg war crimes trials. "Nuremberg, the Last Battle," is based on diaries of the judges, defense counsel, chief American prosecutor and some of the "criminals".

* Canada:

The organized Jewish community is ecstatic with joy and glee because Prime Minister Chretien's government is moving head over heels to deport alleged "Nazi war criminals" - WITHOUT criminal trials on immigration matters!

One man is 90 years old and sick. What a performance by a so-called "humanistic" government!

* Russia

The Zundel-Haus received a telling cartoon, appearing in "USA Bericht", a reproduction of a prison cell with metal bars shaped like the Star of David - showing the Russian Bear struggling out of his "cage". A cartoon of great visual impact - no wonder folklore has it about a picture being worth a thousand words!

* USA

According to an ANA report, the US government, doing a sluggish "Me, too . . .", revealed on January 23, 1997 that

". . . 250 Americans have filed claims so far for being "Holocaust survivors" who are eligible for reparations from Germany. February 23 is the deadline for filing the claims, which will be studied by US authorities before being sent to Germany. Germany and the US made an agreement in 1995 that would pay reparations to American "survivors" who are still living . . ."

* France:

As a follow-up to the upcoming Maurice Papon trial, one reader wants to know: "Will Papon use his trial to do a Garaudy?" In other words, will he use the "Revisionist approach"?

(The Zundelsite is merely hinting . . . )

The attorney for Klaus Barbie was asked to do just that, but told Dr. Faurisson, and others, that ". . . my client doesn't want to get into THAT . . ."

WILL Papon get "into that . . . " our reader asks, concluding: "That would bring on a political earthquake of magnitude 10 on the Zionichter scale."

* Japan:

>From Japan, most tellingly, arrived a humming fax entitled "Holocaust returns to haunt German television". It starts with

". . . the collective memory is dredged up one more time by faded black-and-white images flickering on the screen...The Holocaust is back."

Why - did it ever leave?
