ZGram: Where Truth is Destiny

June 28, 2001

Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

It never ceases to shock me how all too many mainstream, traditional Christians have learned to grovel before the Holocaust Lobby. Dana Alvi, a Polish Revisionist and a deeply Catholic Christian, sent me the following, horrified:

Subject: * * * * Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary * * * *

Hello,

For about a year or so, I've been receiving by regular mail materials from the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary, Canaan in the Desert. I noticed from the beginning that this group promotes Jewish causes, so I discarted their mail. Today, I opened an envelope which must have arrived in May. I am appalled!

Under the title "Changing the Future by Confronting the Past, Jerusalem 2001, April 17-22", the article describes a convention which took place in Jerusalem. The purpose of this convention was to present a Christian "act of repentance for antisemitism which led to the Holocaust".

Quote : " ... Everything we know about God comes to us through Israel. Jesus Himself said, 'Salvation is from the Jews' (John 4:22). In opposing the Jewish people, we have opposed God. ... "

"... As Rabbi Laderman then pronounced the Aaronic blessing, a south American lawyer sensed the breaking of chains binding his people for their role in persecuting the Jews at the time of the Spanish Inquisition. ..."

"... In the auditorium Christians of various nationalities expressed sorrow for their nations' apathy or even complicity during the Holocaust. One of the most compelling confessions was that of Bishop N.P. Phaswana of South Africa. What helped him to come to terms with the torture he underwent during Apartheid was a visit to Auschwitz. Having suffered himself, he could identify with the Jewish people. But in Auschwitz God convicted him, 'You are no different from the German people. Given the intimidation of the Nazi regime, who knows if you would have acted any differently if you had been in their shoes ?' This realization helped him to forgive the Whites, as well as see himself as a sinner in the sight of God. ... I accept the fact that Luther's hatred utterances directed to the Jews form part and parcel of Lutheranism. I accept and confess my guilt as a Christian with the Lutheran family'.

" ... I also realized this did not happen in a vacuum but was the result of antisemitic teachings within the Church." ..."

"... In Jerusalem, a group of Germans attending the conference were greeted in German by a young Arab: 'Hitler is alive. Come again. Kill all the Jews.' .."

" On the second night of the convention, which coincided with Memorial Day ceremonies, we could hear the sound of mortars and machine-gun fire in nearly Beit Jala and Gilo. The present hostilities are, as we were later informed by the American journalist David Dolan, rooted in the guilt of the Church. ... "

"... A brief encounter in Tel Aviv with an elderly couple who had survived the Holocaust illustrates the need for an ongoing repentance. ... "

In Internet Jerusalem Post. April 13. Forgive us Father, for we have sinned. By Elli Wohlgelernter. " ... We have sinned against the Jewish people for 2,000 years, it led to the Holocaust, and we are sorry. ... "

In Jerusalem Post. April 20, 2001, by Elli Wohlgelernter. "With heads bowed and spirits raised, over 1,100 deeply religious Christians ... confess before the Jewish people, and repent before God, two millenia of antisemitism in the name of Christianity. ..."

As I read and jot down these few quotes, I think some of this was already posted. Much more is on www.kanaan.org.

Thought for the Day:

"I held it truth, with him who sings to one clear harp in diverse tones, that men may rise on stepping stones of their dead selves to higher things.

(Alfred, Lord Tennyson)
