Update on the planned/aborted May 6, 2005 Zundel Protest Demonstration

As I reported previously, I have experienced enormous e-mail and
possibly snail mail sabotage in organizing and coordinating the
planned international protest rallies for Ernst, a Prisoner of
Conscience kidnapped on American soil in 2003, deported and
imprisoned first to Canada and then to Germany.

Without going into details of this complicated interference by
faceless censors, let me just say that many of my messages did not
reach our intended participants, and certainly most of their anxious
queries did not reach me.

At the last moment, therefore, I asked that those who could not be
contacted for group participation take matters into their own hands
and make their protests known on an individual basis by either
personal visit or letter, fax, or phone to German Embassies and
Consulates.

My request to our supporters was as follows:

Ask if the following is true:

Is it true that the Embassy of Washington, D.C. participated in
a coordinated kidnap ambush of Ernst Zundel?

Is it true that an arrest warrant was sworn out by the German
government on the very day of the Zundel deportation to Canada,
even though the statutes of limitation on previous charges for
"speech crimes" had expired?

Is it true that Ernst Zundel has not yet been charged by the
German government, even though he has been in detention in a
German prison for almost two months?

Is it true that his wife's letters are withheld - that as far as
she knows, not one of her personal letters have reached him?

Is it true that Germany, a so-called "democratic" country, has
prosecuted tens of thousands of its own citizens for "speech
crimes" with heavy fines and/or imprisonment?

Is it true that it is no longer safe to travel to Germany, even
for non-German citizens? (Mention the 1995 arrest of the
German-American author, Hans Schmidt)

Is it true that there is an arrest warrant out for Dr. Ingrid
Rimland, an American citizen, wife of Ernst Zundel, for a website
on an American server she and she alone has owned and operated
since 1994?

Is it true that this arrest warrant is, in fact, Europe-wide?

It appears that ALL of the consulates contacted by Zundel friends
responded with a canned reply - if they responded at all! - which
reads as follows in the main (meager) body of the letter:

"The Public Prosecutor's Office in Mannheim is conducting the proceeding.

"The German Foreign Office and its foreign missions, as a rule, do not
comment on ongoing criminal proceedings.

"The relevant public prosecutor's office in Germany is responsible for
providing the media with information about criminal proceedings."

Please note that not a single question as outlined above was addressed!

Please note also that this missive refers specifically to "ongoing
criminal proceedings" - even though Ernst Zundel has not yet been
charged!

Naturally, our supporters were less than satisfied. I am still
collecting their letters for possible future use.

Below is a typical reply to the German Consulate from a lady in Texas, Dianne:

"Thank you very much for your response.

"I find this absolutely incredulous - "criminal proceedings"
considered for a man who is peaceable, killed no one, robbed no one,
harmed no one. All he did was revisit the issue of Germany and WWII
and found evidence and drew conclusions that the German people are
NOT the villains they have been painted to be.

"How can you stand by, extricate yourself, distance yourself from
this? It is all of our battle - when oppression reigns. It's the
law? Thought and discussion are crimes? It is a sad state of
affairs for Germany. I pray the next generation will see the madness
in this and make the changes to allow for the freedom of expression
that will not jail a man for thought and discourse.

"You CAN do something, sir. Ernst Zundel is a German and his
situation IS your problem as well. You might want to rethink this
issue and the fate of Mr. Zundel and how you can help."

Many supporters who took the phone route ran into similar problems of
communication resulting in brush-off. Here is a typical - and
telling - telephone experience by a lady in California, Jana:

"Today I called the German Consulate in San Francisco and verbalized
(politely of course) my concern about Ernst as a political prisoner
in Germany.

"It was as if the woman who answered the phone suddenly developed a
case of amnesia. I could not believe her evasive attitude. She
actually responded as if she was afraid to hear what I had to say.
She couldn't seem to answer even the simplest question.

"I asked her who I might direct a letter to at the Consulate.
According to her there was no one to write to.

"I asked for the street address. She refused to give it to me.

"I told her she had nothing to fear from me. I said I just wanted to
put my concerns in writing and send it in a letter. She said that San
Francisco was not concerned about such issues but I should send my
letter to Washington.

"I told her that I wanted to send my letter to San Francisco because
I lived in the Bay Area and might wish to visit the Consulate in
person at some point. She said I should go to Washington not San
Francisco. In San Francisco they were only concerned with such things
as visas and passports.

"I asked her if the address was public information listed on the
internet. At that point she hurriedly gave me the address and hung
up."

Now I ask you: Does this look to you like a coordinated attempt by
the venerable German government to ignore or even subvert entirely
legitimate inquiries asked by concerned adults all over the world
objecting to the unjustified imprisonment of one of Germany's
best-known political dissidents, Ernst Zundel?

Shame! Shame on Germany playing lackey to the beneficiaries of an
extortion racket called the "Holocaust"!

This story is developingŠ
