Follow-up on planned demonstrations protesting the Ernst Zundel
deportation / incarceration in Germany:
To all:
The date of the Protest Demonstration is May 6 - a Friday. We chose
this date to counteract the huge demonstrations our enemies will put
on to "celebrate the liberation" of Germany in 1945. Those of us who
experienced that day know we were not "liberated" - it was merely the
beginning of an occupation that has endured to this day, much of it
in Western society's brains.
If you absolutely cannot make it on May 6, participate either before
or after that date.
Cities hosting Embassy/Consulates of Germany in the United States are:
Atlanta
Boston
Chicago
Houston
Los Angeles
Miami
New York
San Francisco
Washington
The website link providing further information regarding address,
hours of business, name of Ambassador/Consuls etc. can be found at
http://www.germany-info.org/relaunch/info/missions/consulates.html
For Embassy/Consulate contacts in other countries, use the Yahoo directory at
http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/Countries/Germany/Government/Embassies_and_Consulates/
Many of you have written to me regarding contact information for
groups forming in your area who are planning to participate in an
open demonstration. I am still working on a list.
However, please be aware that there are basically three ways to make
your protest known:
--- You can participate by spending a lunch hour carrying a poster
--- You can simply walk into the embassy or consulate, either alone
or with one or more friends and protest
--- You can write, fax or telephone and make your grievance known
PARTICIPATING BY CARRYING A POSTER:
This is fun and gives you a boost of self-confidence that you are
doing something substantial. My experience has been that even small
protests are noticed by media and sometimes put on the wire. The
value of media attention is out of all proportion to the size of the
group. It is invaluable!
Also, you can be sure that the government of Germany will be informed
of the protest. Every country is highly conscious of image! When we
had the protest demonstration before the Consulate of Canada in Los
Angeles, the slogan "Shame on Canada" was picked up by the wire and
went around the world. We got some spectacular footage!
In a few days, I will give you a sample press release you can fax to
your local media and see what happens.
I will also give you a website with suggestions on how to do
effective postering.
If you participate in a protest group, be sure to take a camera along
and send me the photos for our archives. If you can arrange to have
the protest videotaped, that would be nifty - and chances are good
you will be featured in the Zundel Documentary. (I am working on
this documentary practically day and night and know it has incredible
potential. More about that later)
PARTICIPATING BY PAYING A FRIENDLY VISIT TO THE AMBASSADOR OR CONSUL
IN YOUR AREA
Several of the consulates, such as the Atlanta Consulate, are nested
in huge business complexes. Sometimes, a direct individual or small
group visit to such places is easier to accomplish than a
demonstration outside where parking might be a problem. You will not
have media - but trust me, YOU WILL BE NOTICED AND TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
You will have your chance to talk to dignitaries face to face. You
can state your case, calmly but forcefully, in a way that will make
an impression.
If you would like to have a copy of Ernst's prison memoirs, written
while imprisoned in the Canadian Gulag, as well as a Demo DVD of the
documentary to give to the Ambassador or Consul, send me a courtesy
donation to cover costs, and I will rush it to you.
YOU CAN WRITE, FAX, OR TELEPHONE:
Everybody can participate! It costs only pennies - and it will make
a difference. Trust me!
Look at it this way: Ernst has spent some 40-plus years of his life
and millions of dollars - every penny of his own, as well as the
money raised from supporters from all over the world - for the Cause
of Freedom of Speech. Can you afford a few minutes and less than a
dollar?
Please let me know what you will do - so I can compile a report for
our archives.
