ZGram: Where Truth is Destiny

October 8, 2000

Good Morning from the Zundelsite

* That Austrian "bad boy", Joerg Haider, has done it again, to the howl of the Powers-That-Be. He joined veterans of Adolf Hitler's army on a mountaintop last Sunday and called for respect and tolerance for the generation that fought so bravely in World War II.

He is reported to have said: "It is unacceptable that the past of our fathers and grandparents is reduced to that of criminals."

For his politically incorrect daring, he received a standing ovation.

* Elie Wiesel, known far and wide for his infamous ". . . Every Jew, somewhere in his being, should set apart a zone of hate -- healthy, virile hate -- for what the German personifies and for what persists in the German," (Legends of Our Time) endorsed Hillary Rodham Clinton in her bid for the U.S. Senate seat from New York.

His rationale? "She has always been on the side of those who fight hatred and fanaticism."

* As reported in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer of October 3, Roger Cohen of the New York Times wrote an intriguing essay about Dresden, the site of the German civilian Holocaust. Selected quotes:

"With its rediscovered national symbols, its gracious statuary and grim wastelands, its crumbling communist-era apartment blocks and chic cafes, this city on the Elbe provides a fitting emblem of the ambiguities of Germany on the 10th anniversary of its unification.

"The renowned Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) soars skyward, already close to 100 feet high, after lying flattened by Allied bombs for almost 50 years. The restoration of the Baroque wonder, to be completed by 2006, will cost $110 million. For the respected daily Frankfurter Allgemeine, it expresses 'a longing to put right the barbarity of the past.'"

"While Dresden is a universal symbol of the horror of civilian bombardment, the frankness of this reference to Allied "barbarity" is indicative of a Germany more ready to speak its mind. It is a country that talks of "national interests" and "patriotism" -- and is ready to rebuild a church expressive of wounded German pride."

* "Holocaust denial is really at the core of the new wave of anti-Semitism and neo-Nazi activity," opines Dr. Karen Mock, B'Nai Brith Canada's national director and best remembered for her shrieking outburst when on March 15, 1996, the Attorney General of Ontario refused to charge German-Canadian activist, Ernst Zundel, for challenging the Holocaust.

London (Ontario, Canada) police are now looking for the publisher of a Holocaust-denial pamphlet found stuffed into free magazines in a box outside London's city hall. Since January, city police have investigated a grand total of 25 so-called "hate crimes", compared with 12 similar incidents in the 10-month span of 1999 when police began tracking "hate-specific" activity.

In a country of 30 million, Canada must have a serious "hate" problem.

* "Looted art stolen by the Nazis" is the latest scheme and busily exploited extortion racket by the Holocausters. At a conference two years ago in Washington, ". . . 44 countries endorsed guidelines intended to push nations, museums, galleries and individuals to re-examine collections and archives in an unprecedented search for the lost assets of Holocaust victims."

What people are not being told is that much of this art was "acquired" for a penny and a sneeze after World War I when Germany was forced on its knees due to a virulent inflation policy brought on by the banking concerns. Many Jews bought up whole blocks of furnished property with hard foreign money, sent to them by their brethren overseas, as described in Nahum Goldman's memoirs.

We might point out that no one has ever called together a conference to track down the artifacts looted from the German castles, art museums, libraries and private collections after World War II, some of which surfaced recently in the possession of the Albright-Korbel family.

* Alleged Nazi war criminal Aleksandras Lileikis, indicted for ". . . sending scores of Jews to their deaths" during World War II, has escaped his tormentors and has died of a heart attack before a court could pass final judgment. He was 93.

Simonas Alperavicius, a leader of Lithuanian's Jewish community, expressed regret Tuesday that Lileikis died without admitting guilt or facing a court verdict. "He didn't repent before he died,'' he sniffed.

Defense attorney Algimantas Matuiza, on the other hand, said that Likeikis's death was the ultimate rebuke to those who said he was "feigning illness to avoid trial". "His death is a disgrace to experts who said that the old man could be tried up to his very last days,'' said Matuiza.

Some people speculate that some precedents are being set here for the equally merciless upcoming prosecution of Bolshevik torturers, many of Jewish background, still alive in Eastern Europe and especially in Russia.

* Hollywood actress Jody Foster is starting to get heat from Jewish circles about her intention to produce and star in a movie about filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl, considered by many a propagandist for Hitler's Germany.

Riefenstahl, alive and active at 98, is best known for her 1934 documentary, Triumph of the Will, perceived by some as deifying Hitler. This film is considered to be the best propaganda movie ever made. It is regularly shown as a classic at film festivals and film schools the world over.

"A lot of people in Hollywood are horrified at this," said Arnold Schwartzman, who won an Oscar for his documentary, Genocide. "There will be many objections. Leni Riefenstahl was probably the best propaganda tool that Hitler had and a lot of terrible things that happened were as a consequence of what she did."

And Rabbi Marvin Hier of L.A.'s Simon Wiesenthal Center thinks that even though Riefenstahl "didn't even like Hitler . . . every time I have looked at a shot of her standing next to the fuhrer she seems quite infatuated with him."

* The European-based Revisionist website, www.vho.org is reportedly automatized and massively upgraded, now containing 3,000 links to revisionist articles, journals, books, leaflets, pamphlets etc. It is "multi-lingual" and enjoys a tremendous popularity.

* The so-called "democratic" government of Germany wants to apply to the Federal Constitutional Court for a ban of the far-right National Democratic Party, a legally registered party for the last 40 years but believed to be spiked with Revisionists.

A spokesman for the government said ". . . the NPD was guilty of enough serious breaches of the principles underlying Germany's democratic system to warrant the first ban on a political party in this country in 44 years."

If a ban on the NDP is ordered, it will be only the third such decision in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the first since 1956. That year, the Communist Party of Germany was banned. Four years earlier, the court outlawed the far-right Socialist Reichs Partei (SRP) headed by Otto Ernst Remer, a World War II military hero.

The federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), says there are strong grounds for judging the NPD ". . a direct threat to Germany's constitutionally based democratic system."

* ABC News' Barbara Starr reports that half a century after the end of World War II,

". . . researchers are uncovering new details about just how much U.S., British and Russian intelligence knew about Nazi operations and the Holocaust."

More than 400,000 pages of declassified documents from the records of the Office of Strategic Services - the predecessor to the CIA -

". . . are helping historians at the National Archives understand many events for the first time. It is widely expected that the CIA may finally declassify its long awaited files on Adolf Hitler and his SS chief Heinrich Himmler. Those files are expected to contain psychological profiles of both men written at the time by U.S. army doctors for the OSS."

One wonders why it took the CIA 55 years to come clean!

* A British museum agreed to pay $36,000 in ransom for the stolen Enigma machine, a World War II code-breaking machine. This device, once used by the Nazis to send top-secret messages, was stolen in April from the Bletchley Park museum northwest of London.

A ransom note informed the museum that the machine would be destroyed if the ransom were not paid by midnight on Friday. One of only three surviving Enigma machines, it is worth about $145,000.

''It would be historic vandalism to destroy this machine,'' said museum director Christine Large. ''It is an irreplaceable piece of history.'' How many such pieces were destroyed by Allied vandals after the defeat of Germany the world will never know!

* More Holocaust gravy: Austria and the United States have reached agreement to establish a $380 million fund ". . . to compensate people forced into hard labor by the Nazis during World War II."

Once the agreement is signed, Austrian companies believe they will be legally protected against further lawsuits on this issue. Schuessel said he was confident those who had not yet contributed to the fund would do so within the next few weeks.

The Happy End? No! Far from it!

Once the agreement has been signed, Eizenstat said intensive discussions would begin with the Austrians on the "tougher issue" of compensating Austrian Jews whose property was seized by the Nazis.

* The discovery of the wreck of the battle cruiser Scharnhorst has German authorities worried: should the ship, once the pride of Hitler's navy, be dragged up from the deep as part of a broader campaign to recognise the country's fallen warriors?

"If we play this wrongly, the Scharnhorst could be our Kursk," a Defence Ministry official said, referring to the politically damaging discussion in Russia about whether to retrieve the bodies from the recently wrecked submarine.

* Reinhard Spitzy, a former aide to Joachim von Ribbentrop, Adolf Hitler's foreign minister, has decided to write a book ". . . about the funny side of the Third Reich." Spitzy is reported to have said that he believes he owes it to posterity to record the jokes and blunders that were part of Nazi life.

* Germar Rudolf's magnificent "Dissecting the Holocaust" has been nabbed by Canada Customs - another scientific and literary casualty!

* The Finkelstein book is still on the loose, still gathering the ravest reviews. I'll treat you to a few choice quotes from Canada's very own Howard Margolian, a historian, author, and former member of Canada's war crimes prosecution unit:

"The Holocaust Industry is a searing indictment of recent Holocaust compensation agreements. Its central premise is that the ongoing campaign to expand both the range of targets and the amount of compensation sought is not, as organizations like the World Jewish Congress would have us believe, motivated by a desire to see justice served. On the contrary, it is just the latest and most extreme example of the abuse of the Holocaust for crass purposes. Previously trotted out to intimidate critics of Israel, the Holocaust, according to Finkelstein, is now being wielded as a club with which to bully Swiss banks, German companies, and the emerging democracies of eastern Europe into handing over billions of dollars. The compensation campaign has become, in short, `an outright extortion racket.' Worse still, while the various claims for compensation were launched in the name of needy Holocaust survivors, much of the money awarded thus far has been earmarked for the coffers of Jewish organizations, and thus is likely to be frittered away on such dubious projects as community property restitution and Holocaust awareness."

"Finkelstein has uncovered a litany of lies and deceptions. The number of actual survivors has been wildly inflated, bogus survivors have published fraudulent memoirs to international acclaim, and, during the recent tussle over Jewish assets held in Swiss banks, the head of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in the United States levelled the outrageous charge, one contradicted by the historical record, that Switzerland had interned Jewish refugees in slave labour camps during the war. In addition, Nazism's numerous non-Jewish victims are being airbrushed out of commemorations of the Holocaust. So too are the other episodes of genocide that stained the twentieth century. As Finkelstein so eloquently observes, a few more years of this and it will no longer be possible to distinguish between Holocaust commemoration and Holocaust denial."

" These criticisms notwithstanding, The Holocaust Industry is one of those rare books that are destined to change public opinion. Beyond exposing a massive scandal, Finkelstein has given voice to concerns that many of us have had, but have been too timid to state publicly."

Right from the horse's mouth!
