ZGram - Where Truth is Destiny: Now more than ever!

March 23, 2004

Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

Many of our "Free Zundel" supporters send me copies of letters that
Ernst wrote to them for our archives. Again and again, I am
astonished at the way Ernst can strip down a complex problem and
explain it in a simple sentence or two where it impacts on one's
soul.

For instance, he was writing to a friend in Germany, speaking of the
European casualties of World War II, and he said, paraphrased from
German: "In the forests around Berlin, that's where Europe lies
buried - the European continent that should have been and would have
been." In German, he uses the sentence "Da liegt Europa verscharrt."
"Buried" does not do it justice - it does not capture the enormous
tragedy for the Old Continent, and now for America also.

Likewise let's remember those who were our enemies and should have
been our brothers. What a heartbreak tragedy that they fell victims
to the lies!

                    IN FLANDERS FIELD

In Flanders field, the poppies grow
Beneath the crosses row on row
that mark our place; and in the sky
The lark still bravely singing fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders field.

Take up our quarrel with the foe.
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high,
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders field.

-- Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae
(1872-1918) Royal CanadianArmy

If any question why we died
Tell them, because our fathers lied.
