Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

In this Prisoner of Conscience Letter, Ernst pays tribute to one of 
the most courageous and innovative owners of alternative websites, 
Jeff Rense of www.rense.com

Dear Mr. Rense -

A new-found friend will pass this note on to you, because I do not 
have your snail mail address in my jail cell. I had asked Ingrid for 
it several times but either it slipped her mind, or it was lifted 
from the envelope. My mail has to run the gauntlet of several rings 
of censors, official and unofficial.  The local prison censors are 
not the problem - they have clearly laid-out rules and are empowered 
by Canadian Law to read and censor all incoming and outgoing mail, 
which is against Federal Law in the U.S.A.  Incoming censorship - 
opening of letters - is understandable in this age of drug smuggling 
in powder form on the back of stickers on letters and greeting cards 
- outgoing censorship is something entirely different. In America, 
even a convicted criminal is accorded one small vestige of humanity 
and privacy - in Canada, where the concept of individual freedom has, 
at best, been tenuous throughout the centuries, this last vestige of 
privacy is cheerfully curtailed and violated by sanction of 
Parliament.  All, naturally, because of 'Security Concerns!  To speak 
with Churchill, my least favorite Englishman:  "Never have so many 
given up so much of their fundamental freedoms for so little increase 
in security as this present generation has since the events of 
9-11-01."

We truly are beginning to resemble a herd of lemmings heading for the 
not-too-distant cliff.

This is why you perform such an incredibly vital service, not just to 
America, but to the greater world at large - well beyond the 
geographic confines of America.  Thank God for the technology of the 
Internet, and praise be to the Almighty in this hour of mankind's 
greatest need for clarity, wisdom, insight coupled to courage - for 
your courage and those who work with you, those who help you with 
their talents, their technical skills, and the many writers and 
researchers [who assist you]. Where would the cause of truth and 
freedom be without people like you?

My wife tells me that you reach millions upon millions of people the 
world over with your radio program and website.  Most likely, these 
listeners and viewers have not the faintest idea about the sacrifices 
you are called on to make - every hour of every day, weeks and 
months, to keep your information outreach going. I know from my much 
smaller efforts over the years about the many anxieties, the 
financial worries, the technical and staff problems, logistical 
hurdles to overcome etc. The task is Herculean.

That's why I quietly tremble in my cell every time I am told that 
hackers and saboteurs have shut down your website or program by sneak 
attacks, for I can empathize with you, and those who help you.  [I 
know] what it means to find the sources, and the powers behind those 
sources of your problems, and neutralize them.

I used to say to my wife, Ingrid Rimland, when I was still a "free" 
man living my beleaguered and besieged existence in Canada:  "This 
Jeff Rense is a modern Paul Revere. Instead of a horse, he rides the 
airwaves, the electronic Super Highway - the Autobahn of the 
Internet."

This modern day Paul Revere alerts his fellow citizens to the enemies 
within the gates and without. He alerts people all over the world not 
just about the latest political news, and governmental outrages.  He 
is the whistle-blower par excellence, in America and worldwide - not 
just on one issue or one time, like Ambassador Wilson on the "yellow 
cake" uranium forgery. Mr. Wilson got an award for being a whistle 
blower - good for him! Even better for his poor victimized wife!  I 
am glad they were honored.  But - lying on my uncomfortable jail bunk 
on the cold concrete slab bed - I thought to myself: "What about Jeff 
Rense? He has blown the whistle on so many scandals and acts of 
treason that it [makes insignificant] the actions of most others, 
including myself."

People have to understand, and need to appreciate, that it takes 
courage to go public with a  government or bureaucracy gone wrong, 
but it takes infinitely more courage to spread the news of the 
wrong-doing far and wide, to risk everything - one's reputation, 
one's business, one's very life these days.

Had there been a dozen more Jeff Renses in America, who blew the 
whistle on the non-existent "Weapons of Mass Destruction",  hundreds 
of American men and women would not have needlessly been sacrificed 
on "the altar of a lie." Thousands of American mothers and fathers 
would not have to grieve the loss [or maiming] of their sons and 
daughters on some dusty battlefield in far-off places like Iraq or 
Afghanistan.  Tens of thousands of Iraqis - men, women and so many 
innocent children - would not have had to die, or live the rest of 
their lives sightless, limbless and in permanent despair and utter 
hopelessness. More whistle blowers with the courage and the 
patriotism of Jeff Rense could have saved America not only hundreds 
of billions of dollars in wasted taxpayers' dollars, borrowed at huge 
interest, but this hideous toll of human life as well.

Had there been another dozen Jeff Renses in the country, broadcasting 
the manipulations of the behind-the-scenes war mongers in the 
corridors of power, America would most likely never have gone to war, 
and would not have lost so much credibility - and, above all, respect 
in the world - for once respect is lost, it can hardly ever be 
recovered.

You and your supporters know that the only thing capable of bringing 
America - and the world by extension - back from the brink, is a new 
kind of PATRIOTISM, not yet defined or articulated. This New 
Patriotism sometimes has to defy the Stars and Stripes waved by the 
enemy within -  a new kind of Orwellian enemy, cloaking his deadly 
treason in patriotic symbols and the slogans of yesteryear.

The New Patriotism of the 21st Century calls for a people, not only 
wise and alert to the threat faced from Congress and the Senate via 
powerful lobbies, domestic and foreign, but many other dangers as 
well. The New Patriotism also recognizes that we have to sign, each 
and every one of us, an internal, mental, even spiritual Declaration 
of Independence, which demands that we take total control of our own 
minds, bodies and souls.

You, Jeff Rense, were one of the first ones to see that and act 
promptly on it by bringing to your millions of listeners and readers 
the common-sense rules and approaches to health and individual 
well-being and responsibility of such [Patriots] as Dr. Lorraine Day, 
for Americans have a patriotic duty to be healthier or get well 
quickly.  America and the world need healthy, virile, clear-thinking, 
quality decision-making New Patriots.  And it needs them now - 
tomorrow may be too late.

In this Second American Revolution we [have] had thrust upon us, the 
"New Minutemen" don't carry Kentucky Long Rifles or Bowie knives. 
The New Patriot carries a laptop computer, and spreads the word via 
websites, CDs and DVDs, and - do not laugh - more often [than not] 
munches on a carrot, a celery stick or an apple, rather than glutting 
out on a Big Mac and a heart attack-causing order of fries.

The New American Patriot avoids hospitals like the plague and looks 
upon the men and women in white smocks and stethoscopes around their 
necks with a wary eye. The New American Patriot yanks his children 
out of the hell-holes called public schools and devotes himself to 
the Patriotic Duty to raise, school, train and inculcate his children 
in healthy habits and healthy thoughts - eating healthy food, along 
with a glass of freshly-squeezed juice, not some chemically poisoned 
junk food and aspartame-laced chemical punch which upsets the 
children's mental equilibrium and physical well-being. Very few 
people, as of yet, have learned to appreciate that enormous 
responsibility each and every American mother and father bears for 
America's future via their children.

The New Patriotism demands re-thinking, re-evaluating everything. 
One of those things might be the fetish of a "College Education." 
Perhaps home-schooling parents should not be afraid to direct their 
kids into practical businesses like those of plumbers, carpenters, 
mechanics etc. - all endeavors useful to society and tailor-made for 
becoming independent small business operators safe from the pension 
plan thieves such as Enron and Worldcom. Independence, not dependence 
on the golden shackles of a corporate paycheck, should become our 
goals - until America has been saved.

Your website and radio program are the schoolmasters to the Nation. 
I declare you, Jeff Rense, as No.1 Whistle Blower and nominate you 
from my jail cell for a new category of a Nobel Prize!
