On Ernst Zundel's birthday yesterday, he was given a delightful little present: An article in the Globe and Mail, "Slaying the ghosts of Jewry's past," written by John Lloyd, a journalist for the Globe and Mail based in London.
As before, I will cite portions of this article, interspersed with comments on how, ever more frequently, journalistic mainstream content pertains to, comments on, reflects, and paraphrases our ever-broadening revisionist struggle.
Here is the opening paragraph:
Globe and Mail:
"In 1988, a handful of professional anti-Semites gathered in Toronto to protect one of their own. Ernst Zundel, then Canada's most prolific and active distributor of anti-Semitic literature, was on trial for "instigating social and religious intolerance." The main publication behind the indictment, and Mr. Zundel's best-selling title, was "Did Six Million Really Die?" by British fascist writer Richard Harwood."

Facts first! Mr Zundel was not on trial for "instigating social and religious intolerance." He was on trial for "spreading false news" - a conviction to which the Crown gratuitously tagged on a number of emotionally loaded accusations - which was overturned by the Supreme Court of Canada in 1992 as unconstitutional, since the charge was anchored in an archaic law to begin with, unworthy of a modern democracy that Canada prided itself to be.
I am skipping the next paragraph, which ties David Irving to Zundel and comments on Irving's recent trial against the Jewish writer, Deborah Lipstadt.
Globe and Mail:
"Thus, in his 50s, Mr. Irving began the most radical period of his life. He became increasingly certain that he was confronting a vast conspiracy against the truth..."
Zundelsite:
This happens to a lot of people lately - and Irving had the evidence to bolster his own certainty about 'the vast conspiracy'. That's what trial transcripts are for - where these things are preserved. :)
Globe and Mail:
"(Irving) became convinced that a British court would find that he was a serious scholar who had made an important contribution to historical research. (...)"
Zundelsite:
Yes. Time and again, truth seekers seem to fall prey to a strange contemporary malady - thinking that a court of law is where they need to go to find justice when they find themselves unjustly maligned and besmirched as to both work and motives.
Globe and Mail:
"...a judgment from Judge Charles Gray, ruling in Britain's High Court, that he had '...persistently and deliberately manipulated historical evidence,' that the criticism of him in Prof. Lipstadt's book 'were almost invariably well-founded' and that he is 'a racist who associates with right-wing extremists who promote neo-Nazism."
Zundelsite:
What judgment? A judgment by the very same Judge Gray who prefaced his so-called judgment by disqualifying himself up front on contested matters of history! This is a judge who thinks nothing of adopting the smear vocabulary of one side in the dispute before him and applying it with fervor to the other. Might a peerage be now in the wings?
Globe and Mail:
"(Irving) has produced good scholarly work on the last war...The fact that Mr. Irving, on his own instigation, should be so damned would seem to mark some kind of closure; a judgment that the most scholarly and dedicated of the hideous crew of Nazi sympathizers should be found, in the end, to be himself hideous."
Zundelsite:
The Globe and Mail is kicking a man while he is down. The paper might well remember also that to call Mr Irving "hideous" is not exactly without risk.
Nor is it proper journalistic conduct, as any undergraduate student of journalism knows.
Globe and Mail:
"But it will not be a closure. It may even be that the lopping off of the reputation Mr. Irving sought to defend will, in a perverse way, make the plant stronger."
Zundelsite:
That is an illustration-by-example well worth remembering. More often than not, truth seekers are strengthened by the persecution meted out to them. Solzhenitsyn, Boris Pasternak, and even Emil Zola come to mind.
Globe and Mail:
"It is the need to create of the Jews - both those in the Diaspora and in the state of Israel - a monstrous power which spans the globe and can manipulate governments, financial institutions and media corporations to do their bidding, trampling on the truth all the while. "
Zundelsite:
Had Mr. Irving described world Jewry as ". . . a monstrous power which spans the globe and can manipulate governments, financial institutions and media corporations to do their bidding, trampling on the truth all the while", the howls out of the ADL and Wiesenthal headquarters would have been heard at the ends of the earth. And so here is what is important: Now it is a mainstream paper, divining the mindset of Irving or his alleged friends, that is making such colorful statement - and our quarters call that progress. This confronts the public with some concepts so they can then put two and two together.
Globe and Mail:
"The image of the Jew as a world conspirator goes back to the last century, and connects with still older myths of the Jew as well-poisoner and child-slayer."
Zundelsite:
More of the same. Of course, serious Revisionists don't talk that way, since they know what is good for them - and that an eager beaver hate police, egged on by private and public censors, are watching, ever ready to press charges against any uncomfortable critic at the behest of the powers that be.
(Paragraph skipped here that talks about society's complexity that truth seekers supposedly equate with enemies' shenanigans.)

"If a plausible reason for this complexity can be given - that it is the work of a group who wish to further their power - then further converts can be gained."
Zundelsite.
This is profoundly wrong. Truth seekers don't "gain converts" because they wish to "further their power." Most converts flock to them because they share a love for truth and a dislike for falsehood and abhor the abuse of power in the prevailing Jewish-agenda-driven orthodoxy. Irving's closing statement summation, along with Professor Kevin MacDonald's expert witness testimony in London illustrate that perfectly by numerous facts and examples.
Globe and Mail:
"(Jews) are promoted as the exploiters and the repressors; not victims, but the creators of victims."
Zundelsite:
The Zundelsite has a section called "Victims of Zion" where dispassionate readers can make up their own minds who is the victim and the victimizer - and it only pertains to Revisionist writers and scholars, whom enemies of free speech have targeted for hate and destruction. It does not mention the Palestinians, or increasingly the insurance companies, business enterprises, banking institutions or entire governments - all victimized by Zionists big time!
But keep on reading; now it is really getting interesting!

"In the literature of the anti-Semites, the use of the words "liberty" and freedom about themselves and their organizations is constant, as they represent themselves as strugglers for truth. Ernst Zundel's Toronto publishing house was called 'Samisdat', the Russian word to the underground publishing of material banned by the Communist regime. It is a sign of a mindset of radical victimhood, of men who see themselves as struggling to set their (Aryan) people free from the Semitic yoke."

When Ernst Zundel saw that paragraph, his comment was an amazed '. . . did I think that I would ever see that kind of writing in our paper?
One has only to investigate the people who are behind the Demjanjuk, Walus, Artukovic and other prosecutions, along with the persecutions of Malcolm Ross, Doug Collins and, of course, Ernst Zundel, to see that they are being victimized by agitators from largely Jewish organizations and prosecutors and officials of largely Jewish background. Why does the Office of Special Investigations in the USA come to mind?

"The prominence of Jews in business, the media, and public life provide the base for the fantasy; if there are so many, and so powerful, surely there must be a plot? It is the reasoning of a fascist mind, which can conceive of no other order than that of the endless search for power, and its ruthless use."

A mindset on parade! From Boesky to Milken, from Bronfman to Eisner, Spielberg, Sumner Redstone and on and on and on, there are thousands of examples of prominent and influential Jewish entrepreneurs, movie moguls, publishers etc. before which presidents and prime ministers cower and tremble. Nobody needs to be a "fascist" to see the brazen displays of Jewish lobby power. Entire books have dealt with it. (Read "They Dared to Speak Out" by Congressman Paul Findley and "The Lobby" by Edward Tivnan of Simon and Schuster)

And here we were told for the past half century that Israel was "our only democratic friend in the Middle East"! This turns out not to be true? My, what a revelation!

"It is the only example of a modern and democratic state that is confessional rather than civic: a state which founds itself on the need for a homeland for a suffering and abused people. The Holocaust has been a large element in justifying its existence, both to itself and to the world.
"It now faces a challenge, from within, to move from a religious and communal base to a civic one."
Zundelsite:
Ernst Zundel has written and stated that for years - and is for those very words before a Human Rights tribunal! Will B'nai Brith, the Canadian Jewish Congress and other self-appointed censors now rat out the Globe and Mail and lay a charge against them for these words? Will they demand a cease-and-desist order - as in the case of Ernst Zundel?

"Last month, the Israeli Supreme Court took a very important decision. It ruled that the Qa'adan family, Israeli Arabs, could buy a plot of land in the middle-class Jewish settlement of Katzir, near Haifa."

"The Qa'adans wanted a future for their children that included a good education; hence their attempt to move. When they tried to buy land (almost all the land in Israel is controlled by either the Jewish Agency or the Jewish National Fund) they were denied. And so they went to the court.
"After five years of court deliberation, they won."

I would say the Muslim Qa'adans are the equivalent of the Ernst Zundels of this world. These people don't resort to violence; they go to court and fight and fight and FIGHT! Sometimes - wonder of wonders! - a miracle happens. This also is an acknowledgment by the court and the writer of this article (along with the Globe and Mail who published it!) that Palestinians have endured discrimination for 52 years with inferior education and lousy government services!
Globe and Mail:
"The Qa'adan case is a landmark. Supreme Court Judge Aharon Barak ruled, 'The Jewish character of the state does not permit Israel to discriminate between its citizens. In Israel, Jews and non-Jews are citizens with equal rights and responsibilities." These words, a platitude in most Western states, are revolutionary in Israel."

Read that last sentence - and let it melt right on your tongue! Equality before the law is a joke and a platitude in most Western States - as readers of my ZGrams know!
Globe and Mail:
"Salai Meridor, chairman of the Jewish Agency, fulminated that the ruling was undermining his organizations' raison d'étre, to 'protect the interests of the Jewish people'. Yossi Beilin, the Justice Minister, on the other hand, called for the Agency's dissolution."

That would be a step in the right direction - the "de-Zionization" of Israeli's institutions. Don't hold your breath, however!

"In the contrast between the two responses lies the struggle of the Israeli state to achieve a civic and liberal identity. It will be a long struggle:
"Israel sees itself - with reason - as a state besieged, a view which has been strengthened this year by the failure of talks with Syria. It has yet to reach a stable settlement with the Palestinians; and much of the rest of the Arab world is unreconciled to Israel."

And the Arab elite and Arab states have finally caught on to what the use of the "Holocaust" means. You'll see it by this coming Sunday's statistics! The jig is up. The truth is out! And now it's an entirely new ball game! You see that embedded in the paragraph below:

The great sufferings of the past, of which the Holocaust is by far the greatest, ***can no longer be used as moral exculpation for the petty tyrannies of the Israeli state, nor can the Zionist cause take precedence over the demands of equal access to justice***. A modern state has certain obligations that take precedence over all others, because they revolve around the need to extend equality of treatment to all to whom the state extends citizenship. (Emphasis added with relish!)"

Here we have, as one of our cyber fighter put it recently, both meat and sizzle of what our intellectual and spiritual war is finally accomplishing.
Finally! This just about says it all!
Globe and Mail:
"Israel's need is to supersede its Zionist destiny by transforming it from an ethnic and religious cause to a democratic one. This action would deprive the anti-Semites of part of their platform - that part which feeds its monstrous vision with observations of the real breaches of human rights committed by the Israeli state. In doing this, Israel begins to slay the ghost of Jewry's most tragic century."
Zundelsite:
No, let us put this right - and let's stick to the facts. Israel will have to slay a lot of ghosts that now rise from the graves of innocents, all sacrificed in two atrocious fratricidal wars so Israel could have a racist state from which to preach "equality" - for more than fifty years, to sally forth and bomb and terrorize its neighbors, to hide gangsters, embezzlers, conmen, crooks - and its own war criminals by blithely and arrogantly claiming a statute of limitations while agitating abroad through its Fifth Column for ever more war crimes prosecutions.
The century we have just put behind us was not "Jewry's most tragic century." It was the West's most tragic century at the hands of Jewish machinations to get Israel - from the Balfour Declaration and the Bolshevik Revolution all the way to Nuremberg.
