Mark Weber of the Institute for Historical Review, who has
fielded many of my media requests so I can concentrate on logistics, the
business end of our various endeavors and assisting assorted attorneys with
info, sent me the following with his comment:
"This item, which underscores the importance of
publicizing the Zundel case, deserves to be better known."

Publicity plays into Zundel's hands, CJC warns
      JAMES MCCARTEN CANADIAN PRESS
Allowing public scrutiny of Holocaust denier Ernst
Zundel's efforts to remain in Canada might end up playing right into his
hands, the Canadian Jewish Congress warned today.
There's a downside to allowing members of the public and
the media to scrutinize the process that's available to Zundel, said
Bernie Farber, executive director of the CJC's Ontario division.
"We have to balance the public's need to know ...
with Ernst Zundel's absolute fetish for publicity and the oxygen that
      feeds that publicity," Farber said.

[ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: Why not let the public balance
its OWN need to know - rather than depend on Bernie to butt in and offer
to do the balancing for them?]

The Immigration and Refugee Board won't even acknowledge
that Zundel, who left Canada in protest in 2001, is in custody at the
Niagara Detention Centre in Thorold, Ont., after U.S. authorities deported
      him last week.
"We don't have any public information at this
time," said Charles Hawkins, the board's regional spokesman in
      Toronto.
"There's nothing that we can say or comment on or
even confirm that we're involved in this particular matter."
It is possible for interested parties to apply under Sec.
166 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act passed in June to make
any hearings or detention reviews public, Hawkins said.

[Zundelsite comment: We know of at least one large
daily paper that has already asked to be part of the hearings... The
Holocaust Lobby won't like that one bit!]

Whether an application is granted depends entirely on the
board, which is an independent, quasi-judicial tribunal, said Simone
MacAndrew, a spokesperson for Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
"They are the ones that schedule the reviews and
hearings and inquiries and ... a member of the Immigration and Refugee
Board is the one who renders that decision," MacAndrew said.
"We don't have any deciding capacity in that
      way."
Farber said the Canadian Security Intelligence Service
prepared a report in 1996 that was used to oppose Zundel's bid for
Canadian citizenship, a bid he took all the way to the Supreme Court.

[ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: Just like the Marxists that they
are, CSIS planned in camera hearings at the time, which meant that
neither the name of the accusers or the nature of the accusations would
be known. And that is exactly what they are planning again! Stalinism
        with a grin!]

That CSIS report could easily be updated and reused if
Ottawa decided to try and have Zundel declared a risk to national security
in order to block his current bid for refugee status, Farber said.

[ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: Interesting. So one becomes a
"security risk" according to political expediency? Ernst
hasn't been a security risk to Canada or any other country at any time
in his life, as Bernie perfectly well knows! Maybe a bushel packed with
Holocaust lies is at risk of facing public scrutiny wherever Ernst
resides - but certainly no country!]

Today, Immigration Minister Denis Coderre, who has hinted
he plans to use the new law to kick Zundel out, was asked by Alliance MP
Lynne Yelich whether Zundel was indeed still in Canada.

        [ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: Coderre hasn't
"hinted" - he has out-and-out threatened with a big fat fence
post to "kick Zundel out"! Is that appropriate language by a
responsible public servant who has made up his mind before he knows all
the facts? Coderre ought to be ashamed of such unprofessional and
        irresponsible comments! ]

Zundel's presence in Canada "is in the public
domain," said Coderre, but he refused to comment specifically on the
case even as Yelich urged him to "show leadership" and expel
      Zundel.
"In this part of the House we believe in due process
and rule of law," Coderre replied. "But saying that, keep
      watching me."

[ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: Many do exactly that, Mr.
Coderre. Did YOU watch the two polls - CTV and CNN - that were pulled
after more than 45% of voters demanded a fair hearing for Zundel,
whereas less than 2% wanted him charged with a hate crime? The public
has no taste at all for witch hunts that are done as a favor to those
who fatten themselves at the public trough!]

Zundel, a German citizen, has been in Canada since
Wednesday, after he was deported by a U.S. immigration court and ordered
not to return for at least 20 years.

[ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: It seems that Zundel foes wanted
a precedent. This precedent, setting a record in Talmudic cruelty, will
qualify to keep the Zundel matter in the public's eye for a very, very
        long time! ]

During several decades as a resident in Canada, Zundel
earned notoriety for publishing Nazi and neo-Nazi propaganda and arguing
Germany had been wrongly accused of killing six million Jews during the
      Second World War.
He has been convicted in Germany for disseminating hate
literature and faces possible jail time there if deported.

[ ZUNDELSITE COMMENT: We have known of this
Europe-wide warrant for arrest for years from inside sources. What is
interesting is that it has come into the open. Why now? I see a few
        raised eyebrows! ]
