ZGram: Where Truth is Destiny

August 11, 2001

Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

A few of us made benign bets that freedom-of-speech seeking WWII veteran and controversial columnist, Doug Collins, was going to be snubbed by the highest court of Canada, the less-than-venerable Supreme Court. And sure enough, according to the Toronto Star, August 9, 2001, you are served up the entire, disgraceful schlamassel titled "High court won't hear appeal of hate decision: Doug Collins' columns exposed Jews to hatred, rights tribunal ruled."

[START]

Toronto Star:

OTTAWA (CP) - Canada's top court has closed its door to a British Columbia man whose newspaper columns were deemed to expose Jews to hatred.

Doug Collins was ordered by the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal in 1999 to pay $2,000 to Harry Abrams, a Victoria Jewish man who complained in 1994 about four columns in North Shore News, a publication in suburban Vancouver.

The Supreme Court of Canada on Thursday dismissed Collins' bid to challenge that ruling. As is usual in applications for leave to appeal, the court's three-judge panel offered no reasons for refusing to hear the case.

Zundelsite:

Those Jewish-sponsored and -paid trips for Canada's Supreme Court judges to meet with their apartheid-approving, torture-sanctioning Israeli counterparts are paying big dividends for the underwriters of these trips!

Toronto Star:

Top court cases usually involve legal issues that have split appeal courts, or matters of national, precedent-setting importance.

Zundelsite:

Let that burn a hole in your tongue! To rule against curtailment of freedom of speech by a blatantly self-serving minority, or at the very least consider the issue, supposedly guaranteed under Canada's Charter of Rights, is obviously in this Supreme Court's mind not of "national, precedent-setting importance"!

Toronto Star:

The tribunal found in 1999 that Collins' columns "repeatedly reinforce some of the most virulent forms of anti-Semitism, and perpetuate the most damaging stereotypes of Jews: that they are selfish, greedy and manipulative."

Zundelsite:

Some people just cannot take criticism, however obviously true and clear for all to see that criticism happens to be. Let's call a spade a spade. Censorship of inconvenient critics was the issue all along.

Toronto Star:

Collins, who retired from the paper in 1997, referred in one column to the Holocaust movie Schindler's List as "Swindler's List."

He challenged historical estimates of how many Jews were killed by Nazis during the Second World War, citing "the inflated six million story."

Zundelsite:

That magic mantra of the new temporal religion - "Six Million!" - is wearing pretty thin. Even the blind are beginning to see that ever more million survivors line up to cash in on the extorted billions from the Germans, the Swiss, and now the Poles.

Toronto Star:

And (Collins) said Holocaust-deniers Ernst Zundel and Jim Keegstra were prosecuted for breaking hate crime laws because they have "the wrong opinions."

Zundelsite:

Oy vey! Is that a crime if Collins said that? The Toronto Star has once more neglected to do even minimal research. Ernst Zundel was never prosecuted, much less convicted for breaking "hate crime laws." His conviction for "false news" was overturned by a Supreme Court still fairly morally intact because it had not yet gone on those Jewish-paid "sensitivity training" junkets to Israel.

Toronto Star:

After the ruling, North Shore News managing editor Tim Renshaw decried that the paper would have to run "government-dictated content."

Zundelsite:

Maybe the Canadian media cannot look that far ahead, but they will rue the day for their non-defence of Freedom of Speech for dissidents because they feared Jewish pressure.

Toronto Star:

Collins refused to take part in the tribunal hearing, calling it a "kangaroo court" meant to "enforce political correctness." But he submitted a written challenge to Section 7 of B.C.'s Human Rights Code and how it should be interpreted and tested.

That section prohibits publication of material that's "likely to expose a person or a group of persons to hatred or contempt."

Zundelsite:

Maybe people might want to take another look at Doug Collins's written submission and judge for themselves. Chances are you find it at www.freedomsite.org - a likely future target for censorship, Absurdistan-style. Be sure to use the search engine since it is a behemoth of a website with millions of truth-seeking visitors.

Toronto Star:

The current legal test asks whether a reasonable person would understand that a message expresses hatred or contempt, and consider the message likely to expose its target group to increased risk of hatred or contempt.

Zundelsite:

Jewish movie producers, columnists, shameless schmierfinks like Elie Wiesel and Daniel Goldhagen have exposed Germans to plenty of hatred and contempt. Bronfman called the Austrians "a nation of anti-semitic dogs." The police refused to lay charges under the hate law.

Toronto Star:

Among other things, Collins had hoped to argue before the high court that the act poses an unconstitutional threat to freedom of the press.

Zundelsite:

Canadians are in for a rude awakening. Doug Collins supposedly fought for their "freedom" - in World War II and since. One wonders how old soldiers like Collins must feels when they look at the cesspool that Canada has become.

Toronto Star:

(Collins) had retained lawyer Doug Christie, who has also represented Holocaust deniers Zundel and Keegstra.

Zundelsite:

So what? Attorney Rosen, who represents the Wiesenthalers, an outfit notorious for trying to curtail other people's speech, represented serial killer Paul Bernardo who took a saw to a young girl's strangled body, cut her into eight pieces, submerged them in cement, and laughed when her severed head kept bobbing up.

When Ernst Zundel hired Attorney Christie to represent him, all he ever wanted was the freedom to speak the truth about the falsehoods of the Holocaust as he had come to know them after decades of diligent study.

A lawyer should not be smeared by insinuation and innuendo for defending a politically incorrect client, as the Toronto Star perfectly well know!

Toronto Sun:

A gathering billed as a free-speech meeting in Vancouver in October, 1999 by Collins and Christie to raise money for the legal challenge drew loud protest from Jewish and labour activists.

Zundelsite:

An unruly rent-a-mob, tolerated by Vancouver's pussyfooting, ultra-liberal police cowed by the rabble, prevented people from attending that perfectly legal meeting in a Vancouver library. A shocking video exists. The police are a large problem in this erosion of constitutional rights in Canada.

Toronto Sun:

Collins and North Shore News were ordered to pay $2,000 to Abrams "as compensation for the injury they have caused to his dignity and self-respect."

Zundelsite:

With this precedent, lots of "hurt feelings" will lead to a parasites' bonanza. It is going to rain human rights complaints. The pay-offs will fall into receiving laps like prayed-for manna from heaven.

Whatever happened to that nation that used to stand up and sing with manly gusto: "...the true North, strong and free..."?

Thought for the Day:

"For these people, a righteous gentile is one who exemplifies abject submissiveness in the face of Jewish arrogance. All the rest of us are, of course, "anti-Semites," "bigots," "racists," and what have you."

(Letter to the Zundelsite)
