I received two interesting responses to yesterday's ZGram about the brutal demolition of a Palestinian home by the Israelis, as described by one of the Mennonite peace workers. I will run both of these responses - one today, the second one tomorrow.
Incidentally, it occurred to me last night how odd it is that this young Mennonite relief worker did not refer to the destroyers of a young couple's home as "Israelis" or "Jews" or "_______" - you-fill-in-the-blank but as "settlers" - as if these brutes have a right to settle on the ruins that they themselves have caused!
Today's post came from a long-time ZGram reader and a committed Catholic who has tried to shed some Revisionist light in the top echelons of his Catholic circles. The second letter, which I will post tomorrow, is from a Jewish fellow named "Lizard" from the fight-censorship list who has often, but not always, put truth and intellectual freedom above tribal affiliation.
In the past, he and I have palavered about that. This time, I must report to you, we see a real example of a Talmudic Tango.
Stay tuned. Here is today's:
I know you have a lot to read but I had to comment on today's ZGram in which you discuss the problems of the Mennonite Church in dealing with World War II and "the Holocaust". You have heard me on this before, but the Catholic Church has related problems. Not the same, but related.
There has been a major attempt, centering in New York, a city with more Jews than Israel, to co-opt Catholic leaders. "Holocaust" studies are now being promoted in the Catholic schools (not real studies of the event, but the usual propaganda) and Catholic school administrators who comply are sure to be "honored" by the promoters, feted, given free trips to Israel, etc.
John Cardinal O'Connor, a good man, has been the primary target and very successfully so. It grieves me to say this but he is largely ignorant on the subject, and having spent a good part of his career as a military chaplain is prone to accept every story with which we are so familiar.
Example: in his Diocesan newspaper he wrote about visiting the gas chambers at Dachau. He still thinks there were gas chambers at Dachau.
When I challenged him about this I received a response along the lines "oh well, what's the difference" and hinting that I was an anti-semite. Not written by the Cardinal, but by his Director of Inter-religious Affairs.
I thought long and hard about this. As I said, the Cardinal is a good Christian man. He has no desire to promote untruths. There are many like him in the Catholic clergy. Trained in biblical theology they see the Jews only in the light of the chosen people of God and the precursors of the Church of Christ. Many are uneasy about the State of Israel, Jewish support for abortion and anti-Catholicism - but they swallow their misgivings.
There are no Father Coughlins in today's Catholic Church. Every Mass has a reading from the Old as well as the New Testaments. I was taught that we were "spiritual semites" and all this is part of the Catholic heritage. People like the Cardinal simply cannot believe - and do not want to believe - that the Holocaust is "the hoax of the twentieth century" in Professor Arthur Butz' words.
In other words, it's not so much infiltration as ignorance and lack of intellectual interest in the subject - plus the pressures of political correctness. The Cardinal is a very intelligent man but he is no scholar in this area and hasn't the time to inform himself - and his timid assistants run like rabbits from the subject. One of my favorite lines when dealing with such Catholic clergy is to suggest that they have to distinguish between the Prophet Isaiah and the High Priest Caiphus, between the liar Elie Wiesel and Moses.
This ZGram raises an important topic which should be pursued by all Christian revisionists. <end>
Thought for the Day:
"Interesting that so many people believe that the Moon Landing was faked, or that the Warren Report on JFK's murder is fake, or that the official Roswell story is faked. . . but the Holocaust? Never!
"What thorough brainwashing, to create a generation which questions everything but wouldn't dare to probe the *official* version of the Holocaust!"
