Professor Frederick Schweitzer is on the stand - apparently an American by birth but a German by ethnicity. He is described as "oozing guilt . . . Christian guilt for all the disasters that ever befell the Jews" and ". . . the most Jewish-German in mentality that I have ever met!" (comment by a courtroom observer)
Schweitzer's father was a tool and die maker who died in a factory accident in 1935. After her husband's death, his mother went back to Germany with her young son. He claims that at one time during his stay in Germany the family traced their ancestry way back to the 1500s and found it to be "judenrein" - meaning "clean of Jews".
Little Frederick (Friedrich? Fritz?) was a "Pimpf" in school - no, not what you think, despite the similarity in spelling. A "Pimpf" was a small boy of early primary school age who was being readied for Hitler Youth initiation.
Schweitzer described on the stand how he was longing to become a Hitler Youth so he could get a knife that looked like a miniature bayonet. He told what his schooling was like - proud, clean, honest, stressing wholesome values. But then, he claims that the Hitler Youth leader took the crucifix off the wall in a Christian school, stomped on it, and said "dirty little Jew" - thus traumatizing him!
He and his mother returned to the United States in 1937.
Professor Schweitzer is the proud "director" of what is called the "Holocaust Resource Center" at Manhattan College. This "center" consists of 40 books, 3 posters, and a file cabinet of newspaper clippings, plus one CD of the Nuremberg Trial transcripts.
Visitors, who asked where to find the "Center" took ten minutes at the Colleges' offices before they could find Room 434. It is about 8 x 12 feet in size. The doors were locked, and no one was in attendance. Nonetheless, Dr. Schweitzer was honored by the Mayor of New York, a former student of his, upon the occasion of the "Six Months Anniversary" - that's right, six months! - of said Resource Center. It is only open to teachers and last year's students.
Dr. Schweitzer claims to have read "The Hoax of the 20th Century" by Dr. Arthur Butz. He has not read anything else of the Revisionist literature and sees no need to read anything else.
He paints Ernst Zundel as the arch-anti-Semite who embodies all the nasty traits inherent in medieval and subsequent times - from Karl Marx (yes!) to Duehring to Streicher, Goebbels and Hitler. He quotes "Mein Kampf" on the evil of the Jews - Hitler's Table Talks, Rauschning, Shirer, Telford Taylor, Kurt Luedecke, Connacheror etc.
He said it was a terrible thing that Christians burned the Talmud, but that he had only poked around in it. He is really big on the "Protocols of the Wise Elders of Zion" (!!)
The defense team's assumption was that both the Talmud and the "Protocols" would be off-limits, since Ernst has hardly ever dealt with these topics in his writings and speeches. Now that these topics have been brought up, the door to vigorous cross-examination has been cast wide open.
Ernst sent a message to his friend saying: "If there are any questions you want asked or ideas you have, now is the time to mention them."
Ernst could also use the following:
· Precise stuff that was written in English on the crookedness of the Bern/"Protocols of the Wise Elders of Zion" Trial that dealt with this document as a potential forgery, as well as solid and concise information in English on the authenticity - or lack thereof - of the "Protocols"
· Critiques of William Shirer's books, "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", first published in the 1960s, by mainstream critics, and
· Rauschning: Where was he discredited, and by whom?
Ernst's fax number is 416-922-8614. Please be discerning in what you send on. It ***has*** to be precise and condensed, since there is no time to read large volumes of books.
Defense attorney Doug Christie is described as having been his usual self yesterday - "incisive and very eloquent" in grilling Schweitzer on the Holocaust promotion gospels and his lack of expertise in, or even awareness of, Revisionist research. I cannot wait to see the transcripts!
On a somewhat related topic - a very important development:
A xerox of an article was sent to us (unfortunately no reference was given; it looks like a New York Times article and is headed "Think Tank" and titled "A Rebellion Against History's Fuzzy Future." Does anyone have the date?) If what it says is true, a major breakthrough and rebellion in the professions against Canned History is in the making!
Here I quote:
"More than 200 historians, from the left and right alike, say a culture of conformity is stifling their field. They say their profession is driven by the politics of race and sex, a reliance of theory instead of evidence, rampant navel-gazing, obscurantism, and writing that reads like badly translated German.
"They are bolting from the American Historical Association and the Organization of American Historians, the National League and American League of professional history, to form their own group, the Historical Society."
This is a fascinating development - and long overdue. I am writing for further information.
