Good Morning from the Zundelsite:
Today's ZGram comes in two parts - Part I was written in the morning, and
Part II was written in the early afternoon. The record of this story is
telling in itself:
Part I - written about 6:00 AM. or so:
Well, today is the Day of Oliver - which may turn out to be a bang or a
fizzle, depending.
But since I sit in a privileged seat and at the hub of notices of things
to come or not to come, whatever be the case, I just received the following
and pass it on to you with glee, hot off the yellow pad of a grim Mr. Collins,
a scribe who is my all-time favorite for his acerbic quill - and speaker-to-be
at the Oliver Corral. This is a Letter to the Editor of the Toronto Globe
and Mail in response to a March 19 article "B.C. town in free-speech
crossfire":
(Caution: Don't get disoriented by the past tense time wrap mode . . .
)
"Yes, the meeting in Oliver really was about free speech,
which has been under vicious attack in this country. You yourselves have
condemned the federal hate laws and the B.C. Human Rights Code under which
it is possible to prosecute anyone who tells a Newfie joke, as the secretary
for the B.C. Press Council has stated.
But that does not make you neo-Nazis, skinheads, or white supremacists.
The implication in your article, however, was that that is so in my case.
You also reported that I was "brought before a human rights tribunal
for claiming in print that the Holocaust was exaggerated". So I was
and so I did. But you did not report that the charge was dismissed as not
being hateful.
You claimed further that I had stated that Hollywood is "run by a Jewish
cabal". I have never said or written any such thing. What I wrote was
that the Jewish influence was "the most powerful in Hollywood,"
and on March 15 a two-hour network TV documentary called "Hollywoodism"
confirmed that.
As for calling Schindler's List "Swindler's List", that is what
the man's wife called him. I took my cue from her and she should know.
I have never seen any of the allegedly sinister things that go out on Mr.
Bernard Klatt's Internet service. Nor do I care much about them. The issue
is part of a broadside attack on the Internet.
If they disapprove of what is being stated, Mr. Sol Littman of the Simon
Wiesenthal Centre and similar groups want to stop people communicating with
one another directly. They prefer having them go through the filters of
the establishment media.
Mr. Littman needs to be reminded, too, that he knows a lot about hate himself,
having slanderously dubbed Oliver "the hate capital of Canada".
Sincerely,
Doug Collins
P.S. I have used the past tense in the above re the Oliver meeting as it
will be over before you can run this. Doug
=====
Part II: Written about 3:30 P.M. California time:
The meeting HAS BEEN CANCELLED on orders of the Royal Canadian Mounties
obeying their Invisible Masters! It is a disgrace and a shame!
Word came a few hours ago that the Wiesenthalers succeeded once again in
interfering in the free speech rights of Canadians - and say what you will,
the mask of martyrdom has once again been ripped off the hypocrites!
The media spit fire and flame about the deep, dark motives of the "white
supremacists" etc. etc. etc. (you fill in all the blanks!) - the "danger
to the community", the possibility of "violence" and on and
on and on. There was NO violence planned by people on the right - that
much I know for certain!
Most likely, you will get a full report tomorrow morning - for Paul Fromm,
one of the organizers, has announced the meeting WILL take place after all
- at an as yet undisclosed location. Are there some catacombs in Oliver,
B.C.?
You know what?! Here was Bernard Klatt, a perfectly quiet and law-abiding
citizen, a member of the Rotary Club, known far and wide for his quiet,
decent and unpretentious way - with not a speck of dirt on his name, to
my knowledge - trying to tell his side of the story! until these evil character
assassins moved in!
Do the citizens of Oliver need someone like Sol Littman to baby-sit their
morals, telling them what they can hear and cannot hear?! No wonder that
people are saying that ". . . Canada is on probation!" The special
interest lobby has once again brought shame upon the state of Canada!
The end of this story has not yet been told. Stay tuned! Just watch and
stick to me!
Ingrid
Thought for the Day:
"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not
believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do
not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious
books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers
and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down
for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find
that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit
of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
