Leave it to Russian Nationalist Zhirinovsky to express feelings clearly
that most of us express only murkily. A comrade from Germany sent us this
gem:
"Blaming the Belgians and the British for illegally exporting beef to Russia, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the Moscow ultra nationalist, demanded the expulsion of those countries' ambassadors as punishment.
In a protest outside a McDonald's restaurant, and while stamping on hamburgers, Zhirinovsky proclaimed: "They are the spearhead of the invasion of western poison into Russia!"
We have been told that tonight is the social kick-off of the mysterious
B'nai Brith symposium on "Hate on the Internet", expected to draw
some 150 - 200 "international experts" from various disciplines.
I called and tried to find out the location because I thought a scout might
be in order, but my calls were not returned. Others have tried - same result,
or non-result. Oy vey! It is almost as though the Bilderbergers are meeting.
"One gets the feeling," said one of my compatriots, "these
folks are very nervous about this symposium."
We want to state, as we have done before, that we have an arguable and respectable
point of view on history and don't appreciate being smeared as a "hate
site" behind closed doors at tax payers' expense.
And speaking of "hate sites", here is an interesting development:
According to an article by David Crumm, Free Press Religious writer, August
21, 1997, there will be a push out of the same opposition quarters (in this
case, the American Anti-Defamation League of B'nai Brith) to organize a
series of speeches for community groups, educators, and librarians across
America to warn people of ". . . the darkest and most dangerous corners
of the Internet."
"'Right now, it's like the Wild West out there," Donald Cohen, Michigan director of the Anti-Defamation League, said recently. 'There are no limits, no clear boundaries and no context for the information people are receiving from these groups.'"
Singling out the Stormfront website, the article goes on to say that
"(t)he site has become a clearinghouse for white supremacists, skinheads and anti-Semites. Stormfront also has attracted neo-Nazi groups trying to deny that millions of Jews were killed in the Holocaust. (...)
In numbers, the sites represent a tiny portion of the Web, but pose a serious problem because they are sophisticated and deceptive. (...)
Unlike pornographic Web sites, which are easy to spot because they boast about their content, hate-filled sites often try to conceal their purpose until Web surfers are deep inside their pages (...)
Its opening pages claim that "White Nationalists" are peace-loving Americans who have no interest in harming anyone."
The Michigan Ad's chief recommendations about dealing with "cyber-hatred"
are for
". . . parents and educators (to) keep an eye on the sites young people visit -- especially if they are looking for information on the Holocaust, race, religion or ethnicity.
The ADL also recommends that adults learn to recognize these groups by visiting a Web site such as www.hatewatch.org, based in Cambridge, Mass., sponsored by the nonprofit HateWatch, described as ". . . one of the most-respected watchdog groups."
Samuel Macey, founder of HateWatch, according to the Crumm article,
". . . applauded the Michigan program.
'I urge people to learn more about hate groups and to look at their Web sites,' Macey said. 'When you see and hear these things for yourself, it has a visceral quality.... It'll scare the hell out of you.'"
HateWatch, of course, is the former Harvard website that appeared and disappeared
in a flash when we became aware of it and wrote a few inquiring letters
to the supposed Harvard "librarian" why we were listed there -
a "librarian" who turned out not to exist.
I understand that, since then, responsible Revisionists have in vain urged
"HateWatch" to make sure to list law enforcement documented, bona
fide hate groups such as the Jewish Defense League, for instance, or the
Anti-Racist-Action. Have they been added? I doubt it.
There is a silver lining, of course, to any dark cloud. This "HateWatch"
website groups many of our webpages very nicely and efficiently and makes
it very easy for anybody curious to find what they might want to know.
All it takes is just one website bookmark!
There are additional developments of great interest to us here in the USA.
For instance, here are two:
First, not only have Revisionists had it with the Holocaust museums multiplying
like the proverbial rabbits, some New York Orthodox rabbis now seem to have
had their fill, too.
According to a September 5, 1997 Reuter release,
"A group of Orthodox Jewish rabbis. . . sued New York City's Holocaust museum for using public funds to reflect non-Orthodox views, including memorializing homosexuals. (...)
The plaintiffs, more than a dozen rabbis from Brooklyn and two Roman Catholics . . . alleged the use of public funds to commemorate only one religious group of Holocaust victims was unconstitutional.
They allege that views expressed in the museum are 'abhorrent' to the Orthodox Jewish and Christian plaintiffs. . . . The Orthodox plaintiffs allege that the museum will convey the idea to young school children that Judaism looks favorably upon homosexuality, which is contrary to Orthodox teaching."
The museum in question is the soon-to-be-opened "Museum of Jewish Heritage"
in New York.
Secondly, I want to strongly urge ZGram readers and other aficionados of
our cause living in the vicinity of Columbia, South Carolina to attend a
"Nuremberg Conference" on September 24-26, 1997. It will take
place at the University of South Carolina campus.
Here is a description of this noteworthy event:
"Assembling nine of the living American prosecutors from the Nuremberg and subsequent war crimes trials, the conference, to be keynoted by Prof. Daniel Goldhagen of Harvard, will address the historical, moral, and legal legacies of those trials.
Leading academic figures will join with the prosecutors in addressing these issues. There will be four panels, on the initial IMT trials, on modern applications (chaired by Goldhagen) in terms of Bosnia, Rwanda, Cambodia, etc., on the Doctors Cases, and on the Ministries (law, etc.) cases.

Writes one reader, commenting on this upcoming conference:
"It would be interesting to attend one of the Goldhagen panels and propose to Goldhagen that he explain how his book is NOT racist, ethnic, or national origin bigotry.
I expect that - as now seems to be accepted practice in the Age of
Clinton - the participants and attendees at the conference will be
screened for docility and political orthodoxy."
Anyone? This would also be a perfect time to hand out a few flyers, such
as the updated "66 Questions on the Holocaust" or information
on the Carlos Porter translations of the Nuremberg transcripts, posted in
five languages on the Zundelsite.
True to KGB style and form, Germany's Juergen Ruettgers has called for young
"Cyber Angels" to act as informants on "information distributors"
coming from the various Nationalist camps.
It is intolerable, opined Ruettgers in an interview with "Neue Osnabruecker
Zeitung", that "Neo-Nazis" use the net to distribute information
on Hess memorial marches, for example.
Germany's new "Multi-media Law" provides for prison sentences
for up to five years for, among others, Holocaust Denial. (Source: Saechsische
Zeitung, Aug. 22, 1997) The term Ruettgers used, by the way, is "kriminelles
Gedankengut" which, literally translated, means "treasure of criminal
thoughts."
Dr. Fredrick Toben reports that the besieged Revisionist Adelaide Institute
website is back in operation. The URL remains the same, minus the tilde
( ~ )
Bookmark it anew. It is on every web page of the Zundelsite.
According to an August 29, 1997 Reuter report,
"(a)bout 500 people marched through a southern French town on Friday to protest against a meeting of the far-right National Front party to map out strategy for regional council elections in 1998.
The leftist demonstrators waved banners criticising the National Front (FN) and chanted 'F' for 'fascist', 'N' for 'Nazi'' during the protest in Orange, one of four French towns with a National Front mayor."
I have been told unofficially that 85% of the National Front youngsters
are familiar with, and sympathetic to, Revisionist writings, thanks to the
Garaudy Affair of about a year ago.
According to an August 29, 1997 Associated Press release, residents of Basel
". . . have given a cool welcome to the 700 Jews who came to mark the centennial (of the Zionist movement).
The Swiss hosts - facing criticism by Jewish groups over their country's World War II role - have complained about the cost of the five-day centennial and the inconvenience of the heavy security.
Resentment is widespread in Switzerland over 2 1/2 years of international allegations that the neutral country was Nazi Germany's banker and siphoned off Jewish assets. (...)
Coupled with this is the sympathy for the rights of the Palestinians that runs strong in most European nations."
In connection with this centennial, 200 hundred brave Swiss have signed
an advertisement that said:
"The Herzl Jubilee. What are we celebrating?''
This ad appeared in the French-language Le Nouveau Quotidien newspaper of
Lausanne, and went on to say:
"Zionism is the basis for the absolute denial of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights - including prominent human rights activists, teachers, pastors, secretaries and journalists."
It voiced its 'deep indignation' that the Swiss government gave financial
support to the event and is using the national army to protect delegates.
"A Mr. Thomas Lyssy, spokesman for Switzerland's main Jewish body, says he has received '. . . many letters complaining about the centennial gathering, which began Tuesday.
Left-wing activists (sic?) argued that Zionism had hurt Palestinians. Others grumbled about footing the bill for an event for critics of Switzerland. The worst one questioned who would 'disinfect Basel after the Jews have left,' said Lyssy."
Lyssy added, however, that there had been no outward acts - no ripping down of posters of Herzl, no harassment of Jewish visitors.
The Swiss government is said to have promised to underwrite the bill for the congress. This is expected to cost about $1 million, plus undisclosed security costs.
In response, the right-wing Swiss People's Party has criticized the congress openly. Its president, Rolf Ruegg, decried the use of the army:
"It's about time that we made it clear to certain critics who keep
insulting and attacking Switzerland that our army is protecting their religious brothers and sisters, just as it did in the war,'' said Ruegg.
The Swiss are showing that they are getting ever more feisty in other ways.
Last week, the Swiss government announced that it will provide no additional
money to a fund for "needy Holocaust survivors":
"Government funding to boost the Holocaust fund is out of the question," Foreign Minister Flavio Cotti was quoted by Friday's independent Bund newspaper as saying.
Although the Swiss are anxious to make amends for World War II wrongs, Cotti is quoted as saying, they are standing increasingly firm against what they perceive to be unfair foreign demands.
Cotti said in the newspaper interview that the government would react in a 'determined manner against exaggerated accusations.'
I so often think about what all this means. More and more, it looks as though
Revisionism is no longer conquering minds, one by one - it is conquering
countries, one by one.
As I have said so many times before: "Try to stick lightning back into
the clouds." Remember that nature has provided the time factor between
lightning and thunder - the farther the lightning, the longer it takes to
hear sound.
Lightning struck in 1988 in distant Canada with the critically important,
historical Leuchter Report. What you hear now is rumble after rumble.
Soon, it will rain. The earth will renew.
