The Germans would say: "Ernst Zündel's collar burst."
It is true; he has filed an $8.5 million dollar suit against Sabina Citron,
two other individuals affiliated with the Canadian Holocaust Remembrance
Association, and the organization itself - this after 15 years of continuous
verbal harassment and intimidation, threats and attempts to lay new charges.
The Zündel counter-charge is not libel but deprivation of his
constitutionally guaranteed rights to free speech and assembly and malicious
prosecution. I feel for him; Ernst does not relish courts. The man he could
have been artistically was sacrificed to law suits initiated by his enemies.
And speaking of law suits, word has come to us that Linda Thompson,
herself an attorney of note and a name well-known to Waco Watchers, is
pursuing law suits against the ADL and against Nizkor. I do not know the
lady and do not know details - perhaps someone can fill me in?
Mark Weber of the Institute for Historical Reviews comments on a recent
broadcast pertaining to "hate websites":
"The July 23 broadcast of "The Site" was a biased
piece of reporting. Millions of viewers of the new MSNBC television network
were given the impression that the Institute for Historical Review is a
"hate group," even though not a single example of IHR "hate"
was cited. By contrast, this Ziff Davis television production treated the
Simon Wiesenthal Center respectfully, even though this fervently Zionist
organization seeks to censor what Americans read, and ardently supports
a government (Israel) that routinely suppresses people (Palestinian Arabs)
on the basis of their ancestry.
Which organization -- the IHR or the Wiesenthal Center -- can
more aptly be characterized as a 'hate' group?
This report's bias was perhaps most manifest at the conclusion,
when the Web site address of the Wiesenthal Center was shown on screen,
but ours was not."
Here is a very interesting statistic that somebody sent to us. If there's
a statistician among our readers who knows how to extrapolate, here are
the baseline data, as reported by John Lemberger, Executive Director, AMCHA,
National Israeli Center for Psychosocial Support of Survivors of the Holocaust
and the Second Generation:
"Although I cannot provide information on concentration
camp survivors I can say that approximately 300,000 Holocaust survivors
live in Israel today.
This is according to statistics compiled by the Brookdale Institute
of Gerontology. Of these about 200,000 are aged 65+, and 100,000 were children
during the war, making them 55-65 today. Taking these Israeli figures,
and considering that approximately 2/3 of survivors came to Israel after
the war, this would mean approximately 150,000 are scattered all over the
world. The latest registry of the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors
(together with the USHMM) lists 105,000 survivors, but it is possible that
many of them are spouses and/or children."
Here is my question: Given that the above statistics are correct, and
assuming normal mortality over 50 years, what might have been the ACTUAL
number of survivors at the end of World War II?
As reported in an Australian paper, The Advertiser, Saturday, July
6, 1996:
". . . The Adelaide Institute has put in a complaint to
the Attorney-General's Department that the Babylonian Talmud contains hate
literature and is racist, is full of bigotry, is offensive to everyone
not Jewish, especially to Christians and to every decent Jew who believes
in the equality of humankind, and it needs investigation . . ."
As reported in the Spotlight, May 20, 1996:
". . . the example which most sickened (two) left-wing
lecturers was the appearance of "communist" chairman Gennadi
Zyuganov-who is leading Boris Yeltzin in the Russian presidential campaign-on
the cover of issue No. 1. (1994) of the magazine Soil, Tied to our Blood:
"We (Russians) are the last power on this planet that
is capable of mounting a challenge to the New World Order-the global cosmopolitan
dictatorship," said Zyuganov, chairman of the Russian Federation Communist
Party. "We must work against our. . . destroyers, using means as carefully
thought-out and as goal oriented as theirs are. The unity of all nationalist
forces is as necessary to this end as air."
From Israel comes this, as reported in Maclean's magazine, Canada,
June 10, 1996:
'We don't believe in multinational states,' said Labor Health
Minister Ephraim Sneh. 'It didn't work in Yugoslavia, and history is full
of horrifying examples of what happens in multinational states. Separation
is the only way to build a reasonable co-existence here.'
... 'I don't care if separation is not in keeping with the
taste of Western liberals,' said Tropper [prominent Jerusalem community
worker].
