May 19, 1996
Good Morning from the Zundelsite:
Up-front, an extremely interesting and telling statistic: As reported by
the Globe & Mail, April 18, 1996, Canada places 70th compared
to other countries in reported incidents of politically motivated terrorism.
There were only 7 incidents-TWO of which were directed AT Ernst Zündel
(Arson and a pipe bomb!). That translates to 29% of all incidents (!)
Now why would this man-and not his enemies-stand accused of having caused,
or having the potential to cause, violence?! Can the record be any clearer?
On another altogether different topic: Boy oh boy, do people ever squawk
back at those who want to squash Revisionism !
- From one of the stellar Censorship Busters, who mans a Global Censorship
Buster List for Internet freedom fighters around the world, many of whom
are journalists with magnificent credentials and amazing track records
in the finest publicatios:
- (May 17, 1996) "Our censorhappy friends at the Simon Wiesenthal
Center are at it again, though this time these self-appointed net.cops
are going after a student at Northwestern University. At least the Wiesenthalers
are predictable -- they've tried this trick at many other universities
before.
- Here are news bulletins from The Chronicle of Higher Education
, for Friday, May 17.
- THE SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER, a human-rights group based in California,
on Thursday asked Northwestern University to remove a World-Wide Web page
from its computers because the document promotes the idea that the Holocaust
never happened.
- Actually, although this hasn't yet been verified, it seems that
it is not a "student" but Dr. Arthur Butz who wrote The Hoax
of the 20th Century! This ought to get extremely interesting because
you don't easily touch tenured professors if you know the academic life."
- An enterprising Austrian wrote this:
- "You gave me an idea:
- Maybe I find some sentences in (the Goldhagen book) which smears
Austrians as well - generally. Then I will get a court order to get this
book banned here in Austria. I guess Germans are an ethnic group and if
they are all criminals, the law should work both ways.
- This order is called "einstweilige Verfügung" and
it will stop this book for a few years.
- (Also), a colleague of mine has written an open letter to 300 judges
here, papers and politicians proving that the Zyclon-B gassing was a big
swindle. You can guess: Not one answer was sent back-and this man is still
free. "
- From Switzerland, via CODOH
International:
- Doing our best to combat the modern day Omars, CODOH is proud to
present: "L'HOLOCAUSTE AU SCANNER" by Jürgen Graf
in its entirety. This appears in the CODOH International section in French.
- By an order of December 19, 1994 taken by the French minister of
the Interior, "L'Holocauste au scanner" was banned in
France. Considered to be a danger to public order, it can no longer be
circulated, distributed or sold in that country.
- Jürgen Graf, a Swiss author, was born in 1951. He is a teacher
of classics. This book, which is a shortened version of a much wider book
of the same author, "Der Holocaust Schwindel" ["The
Holocaust Fraud"], is a summary of the major revisionist arguments
through 1992.
- The text is well-written and intelligent. It's an excellent course
in Revisionism 101. The original German version may be ordered from Guideon
Burg Verlag, Postfach 52, CH-4009 Basel (Switzerland). Also available from
the same editor, the expanded version called: "Der Holocaust Schwindel."
- (Sidebar: I met Jürgen Graf two years ago, and was I ever in
awe, being multilingual myself! The man speaks some 8 languages with almost
perfect control and, I would guess, another half a dozen partially.)
- From Canada: (from our Reluctant Revisionist, Doug Collins of the
North Shore News, a former British soldier fighting in World War
II):
- THE FUEHRER of the Nasty Democratic Party missed an opportunity
last Tuesday. He could have promised to have his Human Rights Police do
a lot more in suppressing free speech. I see that the German and the French
governments have been asking for loose talk in pubs be made a criminal
offence. They also want to make "holocaust denial" worth a jail
sentence in England, as it is already in Germany and France.
- The British have refused to go along with this advance in thought
control. Pity. It would have been nice to see a man who had won the Victoria
Cross fighting against the Nazis sent to jail for saying the wrong thing.
. .
- Nothing much has changed (in Germany) except that the emphasis is
now different. Where once it was dangerous to be in opposition to the (Hitler)
regime, it is now dangerous to deny what the regime did.
- Topsy, meet Turvy."
- From France:
- 4.5.1996 Le Monde Page 8 (From an interview with Pierre Vidal-Naquet,
translated)
- LM: "Might Abbe Pierre's demand for a symposion of historians
(to discuss Revisionist findings) not lead to the result that "Negationism"
is carried into the public domain?"
- Pierre Vidal-Naquet: "Of course, that's why we refuse this
demand with all the strength at our command. The day when the gentlemen
Revisionists are accepted for an open debate on television or in a symposium
of historians, they will have won the game; they will have been accepted
as a discipline.
- And that has to be ruthlessly suppressed."
- From Germany:
- Die Welt, ( 3. 5. 1996, page 4, translated)
- "Within the historical argument, truth or falsehood are less
important than good and bad, one of the casualties being that scientific
principles lose out."
- Süddeutsche Zeitung, (4. 5. 1996, page 13, translated)
- As to the theme Holocaust, you can be sure that it will be around,
Goldhagen and Klemperer notwithstanding. It is less a question of morality
than money. . .
- In France, Abbe Pierre is considered a saint. He saved many Jews
during World War II. Politicians (and) Jewish organizations used him for
decoration. Now that he asks for debate on the Holocaust, he has been cursed.
- The Revisionists ask for debate. They are eager to put their facts
up for public scrutiny. Why do the Holocaust officials have so little confidence
in their own facts . . . ?
Hold that instructive thought! A good guess is it will come up again.
